People complaining about the notch need to look at this photo. The screen is bigger even if you subtract the notch, and the notch only cuts into the central menubar area which is normally not used.
There's even an unboxing video that has been posted on Reddit.

The larger screen looks so good, even the black on black keyboard is growing on me, but that notch - dam he's a thicc boi!!
I like the new keyboard, now that I see them side by side.
Might get used to the notch as with the iPhone but that kb looks aweful. No where near as elegant as the contrast on the original M1 kb.
yea, side by side the former 13" mbp keyboard looks so ugly now...the new one i love the black keys on the black chassis of the keyboard itself...it looks far better black on black than black on silver
What "chin" are you talking about"? The literal bottom of the screen? Huh? It needs to connect to the base of the laptop.

The bezels look a lot thicker than the pictures apple have up on their website. Agree on one thing, it's going to be a beast.

The notch is here to stay next 4-6 years on a Mac. Unless you can convince Apple and work with the hardware team and convince them.
You need a certain amount of space for the hinge and the cabling that connects the screen to the video card. That connection needs space to flex and you don’t want it to crimp. Also, it’s not an ergonomic benefit to have the screen any lower than it needs to be. Tilting your head down more is not better. It’s not a big difference but any amount of extra tilt is a negative.

The notch is distracting I agree with you. It's just going to take some time. But it's an iconic design of Apple. It defines it's Apple's or else it's going to look like HP or Dell notebook.
Love the full screen format. So, glad I ordered at 16".
Not gonna lie, Im seriously debating if I should've gone with the 16 in now.

Gotta be honest, I’m not crazy about the design. But function-wise, these things seem like they’re going to be one of the best apple products in years.
Also with the 16 you’ll get the best battery life ever on a Mac Pro laptop, and you’ll get high power mode. Best future proof choice
