I don't care if it looks like a white plastic MacBook with a Hello Kitty sticker. It's a keyboard, some electronics, and a screen. (I actually wanted a Hello Kitty sticker for my white MacBook. I used to take it on client calls and the analytics guys would ask "how the heck do you run THAT algorithm on THAT laptop?!")

People complaining about the notch need to look at this photo. The screen is bigger even if you subtract the notch, and the notch only cuts into the central menubar area which is normally not used.

How does this work though when you use split screen and the close, minimize, maximize buttons are inside the notch for the right most window?

It’s so funny that people defending the notch on a laptop screen made by a company who pride themselves on giving attention to any detail, do so using the outrageous argument “ah, you re gonna get used to it” or “after all, it’s not visible with a dark theme”…

Well, I have a 16 in. MacBook Pro now, and the size of the screen is nice. Now that I see that the 14 in. is not that much bigger than the 13 in., Im debating if I should spend the extra money and get the 16 in. Im trading mine in, so my monthly payment would only go from $70 for the base 14 in. model to $90 for the base 16 in. model.

Different shades of Space Gray? Glad I went with the Silver

This is something that’s kinda “bothering” me - space gray on one device not being the same as on another. My iPad mini in space gray is way darker than my MBA in space gray. I wonder why. It would be more pleasing to the eye if they were the same shade of gray

I think the dark surround looks good and highlights the marks on the keys rather than the space around them.

the 14" will never have the real screen estate of your 16"
If you wanted the same screen as your 16" you must go with the 16:

The XPS has a webcam too. So no, not only was the bottom chin not necessary, but neither was the notch.

Never understood why touchpad doesn't have the ratio of the screen.

Touchpad aspect ratio is 16:10, same as the screen

The notch is distracting I agree with you. It's just going to take some time. But it's an iconic design of Apple. It defines it's Apple's or else it's going to look like HP or Dell notebook.

Love the full screen format. So, glad I ordered at 16".

The notch isn’t an “iconic” design. I don’t understand why people say this. Every single MacBook and Mac in history never had a notch and were already iconic with just the Apple logo on the back.
