With my Withings Activite Pop having problems in just 5 or so months, am very much interested in another tracker.

Also does anyone know on Apple Watch2's whereabouts?
I'd love to wait for version 2 above all else.

Not sure why I would buy this when it has no GPS. That is also Apples big fail when it comes to the watch and running. Serious runners don't want their phone on them when they run

I'll wait to see if the heart rate readings are better than the Charge HR.

It will probably be slightly better. Based on the press release it's like they built a device in between the Charge HR and the Surge. No GPS but probably that larger HRM that is on the Surge. But the HRM was only slightly better. Ultimately it doesn't really matter as these "stats" on consumer level devices are more guess-timations than actual results.

Let's be serious here... Apple has been all about keeping prior version iDevices around with cheaper prices after the new model is released (i.e. iPad Mini 2 and 4 available, iPhone 6 and 6S available, AppleTV and old AppleTV) so the same is likely going to happen with the Apple Watch. I predict a new Apple Watch will be released at the same prices we see today but with some significant upgrades (i.e. FaceTime, additional sensors, etc.) and the current Apple Watch (limited color/band options - maybe just silver aluminum in ~3 band options) will be available for $249.

Still looks better than Apple's bong

I was just making a Clerks cartoon joke. But actually with those bezels it's pretty hideous. I had the Flex, Surge and currently wear the Charge HR so I have had my share of Fitbit devices. This thing is pretty f-ugly no matter how you compare it.

As someone who uses wareables this device is kind of a mis-step as well. They should have moved towards improving the Surge rather than making a product that sits between the Surge and Charge HR

During CES this year, wearable manufacturer Fitbit is showing off the newest addition to its lineup of fitness-focused devices with the $199.95 "Fitbit Blaze". The new product is the first Fitbit with a full color LCD display that includes a touchscreen for users to interact with various activity tracking features and notifications.

Similar to the Apple Watch, the Blaze lets users pop out the case and alternate between different bands and styles for a more customized experience. But, in line with the company's other products, the Blaze has an activity and exercise focus with no other third-party apps available on the device.

The wearable will be able to track daily sleep, exercises, steps, and calories burnt, and also includes FitStar workouts that guide users through regimens with step-by-step instructions. All collected data from the Blaze will be able to be shared onto an iOS, Android and Windows Phone device, as the company's previous products have allowed.

The activity tracker will automatically begin detecting when its wearer is beginning activities like running or playing sports thanks to Fitbit's "SmartTrack" feature, taking some of the hassle out of gathering exercise data for Fitbit customers. The Blaze doesn't have GPS (although it can pull data from a connected smartphone), but includes a heart rate sensor and music controls.

Fitbit says the device will give its users access to the traditional notification settings seen in most smart wearables nowadays, including calls, texts, and calendar alerts on the brand new touchsreen display. The company also promises five days of battery life in total for the Blaze. The new wearable is available in small, large, and extra-large sizing options and, like the Apple Watch, can't be used when swimming. Those interested can pre-order the Fitbit Blaze for $199.95 in Black, Blue, and Plum.

Now that's comical. Won't happen. They will still charge a premium, like they did with the iPhoneC

Battery. Life.

I liked my fitbit, but i hated wearing two devices, since i also wear the Watch. I lost the fitbit a couple days ago (the strap on the Fitbit Flex is awful) and I don't plan on replacing it. But if fitbit were to somehow make a watchband for the Apple Watch that integrated a bare-bones fitbit device, so I could wear only one watch with two devices in it, I would definitely buy that. As far as monitoring steps/distance covered, there's about a 1000 step difference between fitbit and apple watch, and I'm still not sure which is more accurate.

Apple Watch 1 makes this obsolete, let alone Apple Watch 2 in a few months.
Right try sleep tracking with the apple watch try going several days try auto exercise tracking. Fitbit is about exercise apple watch kinda sorta has a little bit added. I bet fitbit outsold apple watch this Christmas

I'd be weary of the HR sensor - most are crap, especially from the likes of Fitbit and Jawbone. Garmin's homegrown sensor isn't that great either other than running and while walking about . working.

Still, Add HR to Garmin VivoActive, and that would be better than this Fitbit device.

Well at $80 for the Flex and it was as low as $100 for a Charge HR I would hope they would sell better than the $250 cost of entry over the holidays; Apple Watch.

That's like saying cheddar cheese outsold caviar.
