Maybe they’ll do away with physical SIM AND T-Mobile. I tried T-Mobile for 2 months two years ago, worst mistake ever.I think Apple will delay the total eSIM transition until the iPhone 15. Reason: the recent debacle with T-Mobile US over the eSIM for T-Mobile causing some iPhone functions to not work properly.
Really? Just curious for what use, other than doodling or signatures. I just don’t see much use for it.I only want to see the iPhone 14 Pro Max finally support the Apple Pencil.
Maybe just to thumb their nose at the EU.
For your use case a Google Voice number might make sense.Does anyone actually use two SIMs? I've moved and don't want to change the number I've had for 15 years, but I also need a local number, so I'm trying to figure out an option there.
I’m currently on holiday from the UK in Egypt. I have my ‘normal’ eSIM so people can still contact me, but I’m also using a local physical SIM card I picked up at the airport which cost me £20 for 30GB of data. If I’d used data roaming with my UK SIM, that 30GB would cost me £210,000 (yes, that really is nearly quarter a million GBP!).Does anyone actually use two SIMs? I've moved and don't want to change the number I've had for 15 years, but I also need a local number, so I'm trying to figure out an option there.
And also that means that this would be bad news, as in many countries it’s easy to pick up a visitor physical SIM card, but not so much an eSIM. It also makes the option of swapping a travel SIM with other family members much more complicated. You don't travel abroad, do you? Because that's brilliant use-case for two SIMs.
It doesn't matter to me as I don't travel! And also that means that this would be bad news, as in many countries it’s easy to pick up a visitor physical SIM card, but not so much an eSIM. It also makes the option of swapping a travel SIM with other family members much more complicated.
Do you have an iPhone 12 or an iPhone 13? PWM doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore, at least according to Zollotech. He suffers from the same condition as you.I'm waiting for the day they stop using PWM (pulse-width modulation) in their OLED displays. It is shameful that they still use this technology to control backlight. Flicker-free monitors stopped being mainstream 20 years ago and yet it's somehow deemed acceptable in phone displays.
Industry leading domination? YepMore of the same..
I remember one of the eSIM only iPhones had a mention of a potential eSIM transfer as part of a new device setup. Hopefully that’s a prerequisite for going this routeCan't wait for all of the activation issues if they do remove the sim slot (which I am ok with) because carriers and E-Sim are still a hot mess (looking at you verizon).
Can't imagine why I would ever want 2 TB of storage on my phone when everything is in the cloud - anyway, I'm probably just not the target audience for this, no biggie. Can't imagine how a 2TB iPhone 14 Pro Max could cost... Not that I need one myself, but the Apple tax on storage is awful
These are all nice improvements, but I'm not buying an other iPhone until they have transitioned to USB-C, likely next year
It comes in really handy if you have both a personal number and a business one but prefer to use only one phone.Does anyone actually use two SIMs? I've moved and don't want to change the number I've had for 15 years, but I also need a local number, so I'm trying to figure out an option there.
That’s what I was thinking.."Per the rumor, the device's sensor is said to be 1/1.3-inches in width, 57% larger in area than the 1/1.65-inch sensor of the Wide camera on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max."
Is it just me or don't these measurements make sense? Is 1/1.3-inches equal to .769"? If so, why use the fractional version as it has to be calculated to determine what the actual size is. And if it is .769", that's a very large sensor for inside an iPhone. This all just doesn't add up for me.
Am I missing something here?
If they released AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging case, I'd likely upgrade just for that. I can cope with the iPhone being lightning for the time being.I think it’s unlikely that apple will switch to USB-C for the 14 because of all the profit they make by keeping it lightning. But I really hope they do at this point. All of my apple devices use USB-C and having just my iPhone using lightning is a massive hindrance by now. I doubt they will make the switch since they won’t have to until 2024 but if they did I’d be super excited and will definitely get it. What are your guys thoughts?
I can cope with it as well, but they’ve been using the lightning for so long that I am growing impatient to be honest. :/If they released AirPods Pro 2 with a USB-C charging case, I'd likely upgrade just for that. I can cope with the iPhone being lightning for the time being.
