"Per the rumor, the device's sensor is said to be 1/1.3-inches in width, 57% larger in area than the 1/1.65-inch sensor of the Wide camera on the ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 13 Pro‌ Max."

Is it just me or don't these measurements make sense? Is 1/1.3-inches equal to .769"? If so, why use the fractional version as it has to be calculated to determine what the actual size is. And if it is .769", that's a very large sensor for inside an iPhone. This all just doesn't add up for me.

Am I missing something here?
1" sensors are more like 0.63" in diagonal so 1/1.3 sensor is under half an inch in diagonal. The technicalities as to why they name it 1" has to do with the way they measure it and it originates from cathode ray tube days.
