yeh i phoned them again. different man, said that the store will be back up in about half an hour. and he said that he said that it will be LAPTOPS that get updated. thats two times ive phoned them with the same response. yay for new laptops

That was fast. You called Apple and got a response within 3 minutes. Is Apple's support really that great? Or are you yanking our chains? :p

It´s true

Just saw this leaving the factory:

I know full well that the Apple Site usually doesn't go back up until 2 pm (UK Time), and all you excited people are distracting me from working. Please stop posting.;)

yeah, I bet it takes them about 30 seconds to update the pages. Then they go off for an extended lunch, a few pints, and a game of pool knowing that were all sat at our desks hitting refresh every 10 seconds!

Bast*rds!!! :D

Perfect

I read the whole 2 threads (23 pages of comments) about the MacBook+pros update rumors. 4 or 5 posters could confirm that the MacBooks are out of stock, so I would say we'll see new MBs tomorrow for sure.

If the MB update doesn't include Santa Rosa and/or LED screens it wouldn't be surprising to see a MB update before a MBP update.

BUT, No SantaRosa (including GMA X3000 Graphics) and no LED for the MacBooks? Then what else could Apple update in this line?

15" MacBook? I doubt it. The gap between MacBooks and MacBookPros would be too close IMO.

A Subnotebook? A complete new concept without a Keynote where Steve can get the fame for this product? No No...

My guess:

MacBooks 13,3" with SR and GMA X3000 (perhaps with Robson) -> May 15th

MacBook Pro 15" with SR, LED (perhaps as an build option) and Robson -> May 15th or in the next weeks

MacBook Pro 17" with SR and no LEDs -> about the same time the 15" comes out.

But in the end apple will do what apple always does... surprise me :D

Sounds right on the money to me!

That would be dangerous. I think it's good that I haven't memorized my CC numbers, otherwise it would be much easier to waste money on the Internet. At least this way I have to pull the card out of the wallet, which I'm often too lazy to do.

Originally I had to pull out the card to get the number, but I have bought so much stupid stuff on the internet I have commited it to memory. Darn you woot.

GPS built in would make this a very attractive model for me - especially if Leopard incorporates iChat with proximity aware features.

apple should employ US to update their future store changes for them, seeing how fast this thread is growing we could've made the new pages in no time

Is there a world record for the fastest growing thread on the web?!!:D :D
This thread is growing like a mofo!

Wait a minute, you called them AGAIN? :D

Apple staff must have fun on release days with people like us! :D

If it's laptops, it can't be MBPs
