Hi,

Has anybody figured out a fix to the problem that started in one of the betas and then got resolved for some (but not all) regarding not getting email notifications on the Apple Watch?

Since the final release came out yesterday and I haven't heard of any upcoming dot release to address this problem, I'm trying to find out if others here have figured out a fix.

Thanks.

Just read that 5.1 dev beta is out, maybe that has a fix, fingers crossed.

Geezzzzz. It takes for ever to download, prepare and install. NO EXCUSE for the amount of time and now I find out that Apple has screwed up and I will be doing it again soon. You would think they would detect no email notifications in R&D.

And, still no guarantee that it contains the fix. I know what you're saying, watch software updates are painful.

So here’s what fixed my no email notifications. Go to the watch app> General> Background app refresh. Find mail, turn off and turn back on. Reboot watch and problem solved. Send yourself a test email to confirm. Hope that helps.

Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately that didn't work for me. Just tried...no dice.

This didn’t work for me either.

I’m trying to up un-pair and re-pair to see if that helps.
Please report back how you go! Thanks

Unpairing and repairing is also a painful process, but if it works, I guess we'll have no choice. Yes, please report back. Thanks.

Email notifications worked perfectly for me, although I’m using Spark.
Yeah, I think we're all referring to Mail.app notifications. If I use a 3rd party client (in my case the Fastmail app), the notifications, for that app, work. But Mail.app notifications still do not.

This is only in reference to the iOS mail app and not 3rd party apps. I just installed outlook and trying that with my work e-mail. I’m sure it will get fixed but pretty frustrating and has to be pretty embarrassing to apple if they can’t get their own software to work together.

I'm almost thinking it could be either intermittent or Apple are indeed working on this in the background.
I went into the mail app on the watch, did nothing, and closed. Next thing, an email notification appeared, didnt open it up as i waited for 30 seconds or so to pass and went to have a look again. It was there!

I've done a few test emails to myself and all but 1 seemed to be fine.

The problem isn't with the notifications appearing - it's with the sound/haptic associated with the notification.
