The comments on the app are a dead giveaway that there is more to it than a simple flashlight.

unbelievable that we're 15 pages into this thread and a windows method hasn't been worked out yet.....
Can all you guys really be using mac books?

edit: thanks mrfsu
good to know they're are still windows users out there.

You don't need to download Safari for Windows though. Use Proxifier and everything should work.

**** you Apple!!!

I downloaded this App the moment I saw the post. For a while I couldn't figure out why I'm so happy about it, now I know. **** you Apple, this is our way to put a huge middle fight up to your face for the antenna crap that you pulled. I won't blame you for the crappy antenna issues. But I do want to say Steve, your explanation of less the 0.5% of complain was weak and you dragging down RIM, Samsung, and Nokia is just childish.

Admit that you guys made a huge mistake, and just fix it like a man. I love you Apple, I have a Mac Mini, iMac, Macbook Air, iPhone 3G/4. Your produce is good but your attitude blows.

AND THIS IS WHAT WE SAY **** YOU APPLE!!!!!

1) Follow instructions in Appshopper website
2) Manually set the IP for your laptop's adapter to something in the 13.37.13.xx range (xx = any number 0-255 except 37) and set subnet mask to 255.0.0.0
3) ****DOWNLOAD SAFARI FOR WINDOWS****
4) Change the settings under preferences>advanced>Proxies (click change settings) then click on the LAN settings button. Uncheck automatically detect settings, check Use a proxy... and click advanced. Uncheck use same proxy server for all protocols and erase all the numbers on HTTP, secure & ftp. Enter 13.37.13.37 and port 1337 in the Socks line. Click ok
5) Browse the internet!

Thanks to the developer and congrats to those who were able to download it

I tried doing it with Firefox and IE and no dice. I downloaded Safari, plugged in the info and it worked...

I'll just use safari when I'm tethering and back to Firefox when I'm not.

Doesn't work with 3G Microcell

I couldn't get the page to load while at home and using my 3G Microcell. I left the house and it worked perfectly when connected to AT&T's 3G network. Hope this helps.

No need to get mad at Apple, guys. They would give everyone free tethering if it were up to them. AT&T is to blame. Apple simply pulled the app to comply with AT&T's regulations.

Now lets just hope AT&T doesn't pressure Apple to remotely kill the app!

I didn't see any mention of how well Apple "supposedly" tests all of these apps before approving them. We need to make sure there are no bugs, right? Lol, apple...:rolleyes::apple::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Those of you having problems getting it to work:

Try a different browser than Firefox.

For some reason Firefox doesn't like it. It could be the proxy setting or something. It worked perfectly in Safari and Chrome for me, but still wouldn't connect with Firefox.

Go to control panel, Network and Internet, then the Network and Sharing Center. On the left side click on Change adapter settings. When the window pops up, find your wireless network adapter there. Right click it and choose properties. Find the line that says Internet Protocol version 4 and double click it. Change the settings here from Obtain auto to "Use the following IP address." Fill in IP address (13.37.13.38 for example) and subnet mask 255.0.0.0. Leave the rest blank and click ok.
