How can I buy from the Japan App store? Even when I google japan apple store and click the "google translate" i cant find the app cause I read read Japanese...help please :)

Gone from that store and the uk one.

Any others?

Shame, I snapped it up quick, missed netshare.

File Transfer

Could the application be installed on a non jailbroken phone if someone posted the file?

drag the file from the Apps section of iTunes to your desktop. or right click the Handy Light file in Apps and select 'show in finder.' burn it to dvd, upload it to your cloud, make copies.

back it up 10 times :)

Haha, I just did that. Uploaded it to DropBox.

Can someone post the .ipa file for the application?

Could the application be installed on a non jailbroken phone if someone posted the file?

Unfortunately, this won't work. Must be jb'd for an .ipa to work that's not purchased via the iTunes store.

Same here- my home network isn't working now. I'm sure I just messed up the settings somehow.

Once you've reconnected to your home network, launch system preferences, click on network, click on AirPort, click on Advanced, uncheck "SOCKS Proxy", hit "OK", then hit "Apply"

Recheck "SOCKS Proxy" to restart the tethering.

Port Scan

If anybody is interested in security, I did a little port scan of my iPhone while the app was running and noticed that ports 1337 (obviously), 8080, and 62078 were open. Visiting 13.37.13.37:8080 in my browser started a download of a .pac file which is a proxy config file. Visiting 62078 did nothing. Anybody know what 62078 is?

Yikes....

You think it was hard to get your application approved now? Now every developer in the world is going to want to kick this kid in the butt because their app will be gone thru with a fine tooth comb to make sure it doesn't have some secret back door like this.

CLEVER as heck I must admit but too late for me to take advantage of it. Sigh.

UPnP and/or syncing

http://code.google.com/p/iphone-elite/source/browse/wiki/Port_62078.wiki

Code:
#summary Initial port 62078 traffic study.
#labels Phase-Implementation,Phase-Support,Featured
= Port 62078 (TCP) =

This port is used internally while syncing.
Strangely the LISTEN is done on *.62078 instead of: 127.0.0.1.62078

So, i prepared iTunes for a full SYNC iPhone >> PC.

Then fired up tcpdump -i lo0 -w DUMP

= Details =

Analyzing the dump with EtherReal notes a few interesting things..

I leave to you to experiment and reverse engineer.

Regards,
Zibri.

Turn Airport off then on again. If that doens't work reboot.

I've tried both of those already. Remember that I also can't connect on my iPhone. Obviously other devices in the house are able to connect because I'm able to reply to you.
