The pro 5000 is basically a mobile 5090, which is slower than a desktop 5080, so it shouldn't take much.
Wow, they're really pushing their online account stuff. It requires a Microsoft login
Oh wow I didn’t know they retired Windows Movie Maker. I’d rather just download Resolve instead of using Clip Champ.
Yeah Resolve (non-studio version) is free.Is it free?
This is definitely the new wave of business practices. It must make sense from a profit standpoint. It may even be worth it. But so many online accounts add no real value.Wow, they're really pushing their online account stuff.
They seem to be tying the "free" license to a MS account. Which does feel kind of like a crappy thing to do. They probably should not have added the app to the "base" windows install. This is definitely the new wave of business practices. It must make sense from a profit standpoint. It may even be worth it. I wish you a full and speedy recovery. Finally home yesterday. 14 days in the hospital.
I'm using the MacBook Pro as I haven't taken out the Yoga yet as I left the charger in the hospital
I had a PICC line in my right arm and am not supposed to lift anything heavy so I grab the MacBook Pro with my left arm but am tempted to get an M4 Air today. I'm also exhausted so I have to choose my activities carefully.
I wish that Apple carried higher-specs in the stores.
I was looking to build a PC this past summer and I opted instead for a studio, mostly due to Windows and its lack of privacy, but also due to the hardware. This past summer GPUs were very expensive, hgher the MSRP, and so weren't CPUs.if I'm better of just selling the card and getting a new MacBook Pro / studio.
I don't understand how Microcenter stays in business. Building a PC on your own has been a super expensive hobby since 2018 (thanks crypto), with no signs of returning to the old normal. If you can do everything you need on macOS going Apple is probably for the best (or maybe going prebuilt, but I feel like you would have to go with a big vendor to not see price spikes).I was looking to build a PC this past summer and I opted instead for a studio, mostly due to Windows and its lack of privacy, but also due to the hardware. Made more sense to me to get a Mac Studio and I've happy that I did. I can see this computer filling my needs for years to come.
PC building (as a hobby) is on the ropes, RAM, SSDs, GPUs, and CPUs have spiked in recent months, this impacts so many people wanting to upgrade or build new PCs.
Agreed, but the last tile I was there (a few weeks ago) they were extremely busyI don't understand how Microcenter stays in business.

That is for sure and that is the only one I have ever been toExcellent location near Harvard and MIT and all of the tech and biotech companies nearby.
Only reason I own a windows machine is because I love gaming, been a hobby for 2 decades for me. If not for that, I would only own a Mac lolI don't understand how Microcenter stays in business. I bought an RTX 5080 earlier in the year with a plan on building a PC rig, but now looking at the RAM prices, wondering if I'm better of just selling the card and getting a new MacBook Pro / studio. Sigh. AI ruins everything.
I'm not a hard core gamer, I enjoy a mixture of old, and new AAA games. I found between Crossover, and Geforce now, I have access to all of the games I want to play.Only reason I own a windows machine is because I love gaming, been a hobby for 2 decades for me. The M4 Max Studio offers enough GPU cores where most games being played natively or via Crossover work well. I was underwhelmed by the M4 Pro Mini (not enough cores and heat issues).
Just my $.02
A base m4 max studio costs more than my full gaming set up lol.I'm not a hard core gamer, I enjoy a mixture of old, and new AAA games. I found between Crossover, and Geforce now, I have access to all of the games I want to play.

I was pricing out a computer build and worth a 5070 the cost was tracking higher if memory serves me. The issue was for both the cpu and gpu were higher then msrp and tube studio was on saleA base m4 max studio costs more than my full gaming set up lol.
Yea I got a great deal for mine. 13700k/32gb ddr5/1.5tb ssd with RTX 4080 for $2600 Cdn.I was pricing out a computer build and worth a 5070 the cost was tracking higher if memory serves me. The issue was for both the cpu and gpu were higher then msrp and tube studio was on sale
Looks at the steam stats, and you see that only 2% of gamers are using a Mac - Linux has a higher percentage. I don't think there's any motivation for them to add in the cost overhead, and complexityif more gaming studios are going to start really focusing on the Mac as PC gaming gets more-and-more costly. That would be nice.
