...........great device lets bring also a stylus! apple is officialy on the same track as Nokia was before. Bye Bye Apple!

so slightly more per month than the current pro max. I'm good with that. If i don't like it il trade it since i can trade or free 3 times a year.

Another excellent point. Most people are probably going to finance. So in reality it’s not potentially $2400, it’s what ever the monthly payment they get. Carrier deals may make sense also. There are a lot of things we don’t know yet.

A lot of people are paying monthly now for their iPhone. Logically I would expect that to continue for the iPhone Fold as well

They are already moving to 36-month payment periods... why not 48?

All these companies, and now it seems Apple as well, completely miss the original "dream" of foldable phones:

Foldable phones were supposed to solve the contradiction of having a large screen in a small phone. The solution is not to just make existing phones twice as big and twice as heavy.

Give me a folded phone in the size of the original iPhone with a screen of today's iPhone Max, and you have my interest.

I can't say I would not ever be interested in this. Certainly not the first gen for sure... I'll let others be the mass beta testers for a new design. But my eyes are slowly getting suckier, yet I absolutely won't get one of the "Max" sized models... that's just too much for my pocket. A foldable could fit my needs better, but it's something I'd have to handle in person first.

This as well. If people end up liking the Fold and Apple does an impressive job then people will do what people always do in life, they will find a way to get what they want. I am not saying it’s wise to finance a phone for 3 or 4 years, but I can tell ya people will absolutely do it if they want the phone bad enough

Bring it on! I don't think I will switch back to iOS permanently, but I will definitely be giving the Apple foldable a try, as long as it's a book-style foldable. $2400 is nothing for everything you get in one package, if you really think about it. Besides, even though I buy all my phones outright because I will not be beholden to any bank for a loan/promissory note outside of my home, a lot of people will not bat an eye when you can finance the $2400 over three years at 0%. Many just want their shiny new iPhone, and that's it.

The main problem with foldable devices is BATTERY life. Make it the same as the top non-foldable iPhone and am sold. BTW, Apple could use TDK CeraCharge solid-state batteries to boost battery life. Time will tell.
I can get 10 hours of screen on time using my Z Fold 7, using the inner screen approximately 75% of the time. If you need more battery life than that in a day, it is time to touch some grass. :)

So for that huge rip-off of a price, will it have the slow and outdated USB 3, or the very slow and very outdated USB 2? If anyone here is interested in this topic, see the thread in the link below:

I highly doubt they want to launch above that $1999 price point which itself will be a tough sell over the $1200 pro max. Especially when the foldable will likely loose the camera features and overall durability of the pro models.

I’m definitely excited to see how they approach a foldable both in hardware and especially software. Every foldable I’ve played around with has felt more like a prototype than a polished device so hopefully Apple can nail this form factor.
Since the Samsung Fold 7 is $1999 (before discounts) I also doubt that they will price it above that but whatever the price there will be those that buy it especially if carriers have deals when it comes out such as $1200 off with trade in of any iphone etc

Hopefully for the last time (I wish), the core of the inner screen on foldable phones is not made of plastic, it is made of ultra-thin glass. This info is readily available online.

It is going to crease. Idgaf who are or what you say. You open and close something enough it is going to crease.

There will be people who go into debt to get it so that their friends and strangers walking down the street will be impressed with their new status symbol.
The person that downvoted this comment is the one that knows that’s them you’re talking about.

Thank you 👏

All my interest here totally dried up when I saw it was going to take a large phone and make it unfold into an iPad.

What I've always wanted was something small that could unfold to the size of current ProMax iPhones (or there abouts).

Basically I wanted an iPhone Flip, not an iPhone Fold.
