Gurman hasn't been on point lately. Notice how it says he originally said 5 cameras but only mentioned 4 cameras. Yea this guy will be the next one to get sued by apple I bet

Why Touch ID? If this phone is supposed to be cutting edge there’s nothing cutting edge about Touch ID on the power button. They can’t bring Face ID to this screen tech? Or no good spot to put it?

Having seen how others have failed on this front, it’ll be interesting to see how ‘less obvious’ this crease will actually be.

Apple was never been happy with where foldables were because of this, but hopefully they’ve solved this problem.

I think Apple will have to implement a super small hinge for it to be no crease. Unless I missed something.

if Apple makes this starting from $1599 , you will see Samsung lowering the starting price for Fold 8 to 1599

5 camera with 3 on the back as usual. It’s a Pro. Also I doubt they don’t have space for at least one Face ID module. It’s doesn’t have to be on both screens once it’s opened. I’m sure they can manage that. Other wise what Touch ID for both screens. That doesn’t seem intuitive or logical

This is very excited and now we have to decide whether we carry a Pro model or a Fold model if we were to carry one device as our daily driver. Clearly it won't have the Pro level camera.

What are people's opinion on Touch ID?
I really appreciated being able to unlock my phone and use ApplePay with Touch ID. The first iPhone I bought with Touch ID is the 6+. It was a little annoying when it wouldn't work because the sensor got a little dirty, but wiping it with my finger always fixed it. It got better with version 2 on the 8+. Also, having TouchID when those stupid masks were mandated was awesome. It took Apple so long to update FaceID to work with masks.

Having said all that, I think FaceID is faster and more convenient. I sometimes forget to look at the camera because I have the attention feature turned on for more security.

As long as foldable (bookstyle) folds out to basically a square Im not interested. It´s an awkward formfaktor that usually wastes space.

If it’s the most expensive model it’s a Pro model. It wouldnt shift next to the regular model and articles already say the regular model won’t be released that year or “iPhone 18”

If it’s under the display great (they won’t do it like before due to bezels and space) but they are talking about the power button Touch ID like on iPad

What makes you think they aren’t?
Height yes but according to an article it would besmall in width for the outside screen like the older Samsung model (I think is what he means) which I also would not love. Meaning a smaller phone and not big like a Pro Max or Pro

Why wouldn't it have face ID? Doesn't make sense.
The side of the phone that would have to integrate Face ID is only 4.8 mm thick and has displays on both of its sides (outer and inner screen). The Face ID assembly is likely too deep to fit in between.

Nothing about 5.5” implies a small width. It will actually be wider than the Pro Max. Look at these renders: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/rumoured-iphone-fold-size-concept-drawing-and-renders.2456447/
It’s all hypothetical at this point just like the post you placed. Until it is announced in 2026 anything could change and I’ll wait until I see it before speculating
