I am nothing special and don't believe I did anything out of the ordinary. When the Samsung website went live with the TriFold announcement I simply "signed up" my email for updates.

I was very surprised to get the Samsung Shop notification this morning with the offer to buy ahead of the official launch tomorrow. Based on Reddit, I clearly wasn't the only person that got the early invites. I guess having the Samsung Shop app and a Samsung account is the differentiator? Shrug. Samsung clearly knows about my past Fold 4, Fold 5, and Fold 6 purchases. They know I like the Z Fold series, lol, so maybe that played a small part...or maybe not.
Wow I have all that too but no luck here lol. Congrats though! Please post pics tomorrow if you're able to! It'll give me something to be jealous of this weekend 🙂

I cancelled for now. I want to go handle it in the store first. Alot of money to order something you aren't 100 percent sure about
Definitely wise to try before you buy.

I played around with the Fold 7 in stores enough that I feel the TriFold will be very familiar. The TriFold is basically an extension of the Fold 7 -- same front cover screen, same thinness, same cameras, same OneUI, same no S Pen, etc. And by most accounts, battery life is quite good on the TriFold. Hopefully I don't regret it, but I'm not feeling that will be an issue.

Today has been busy at work. Once I get free I need to dig more into whether or not Samsung VIP Advantage truly extends Care+ to the TriFold or not.

Truly limited TriFold quantities! Some folks received the following email (but I did not):

I’d say there’s a better than decent chance I end up buying one if they have in store stock and I’m able to get my hands on a display first. 😎

i hate and love tech for this reason

cost ha
No joke. This will be a very active upgrade year. TriFold leads the way, but I'm also looking forward to Samsung/Google smartglasses with built-in display, and then the M6 redesigned MBP towards the end of the year. I currently have the 14" M4 Pro MBP, but very interested in how thin and light the next 16" will be.

i know somebody who ordered, took her money and then said out of stock
I had similar experiences a few times with BestBuy open-box deals, but at least it notified me of inventory change after clicking buy and didn't actually charge me.

Hopefully it was just a pending charge for her and soon reversed/refunded.

I didn't receive one of those congratulatory "first 100 TriFold customer" emails. I must've been too slow. I wonder how many units were allocated for US online and in-store sale.

UPS status still says delivery today but tracking hasn't moved to "out for delivery" yet. At least the package is at the local distribution center as of this morning and hopefully being loaded onto the truck soon. I can't believe how quick the phone is arriving. I just placed the order not quite 24 hours ago.

I'm picking up the iPhone foldable for my lady and the Fold 8 Wide (crossing my fingers for S-Pen support) for myself...
My one worry is I'm loving iOS 26 so much right now that I'll end up tossing the TF aside after a short time. I guess I have time to run it thru its paces. I hate to return devices. Just always been one to fully research before I buy and never like taking devices for a trial run only to return them, but the cost of this one puts that option on the table. The Fold 8 Wide and iPhone foldable both seem like much more practical options. But we will see after I handle it.

First time checking awhile in the prices on these new phones. I thought they were still in the $1,200 - $1,500 mark, which I also think is very high ( When we buy phones every 4 or 5 years, we buy older handsets for about $200 ).
Understand there is no judgement in this comment, please.
We truly live in a time of luxury for some. The fact phones sell for this much astonishes me. I bought my sister a car ('07 Camry) that ran very well about 2 years ago for this much money. You can get a full desktop computer, monitor, accessories, hell even the desk for this much money. The point for new sellers of various goods or services: Charge what you think you can get away with, some people will agree to that value proposition and pay.
I hope you enjoy the phone immensely! Let us know your favorite experience with it "tablet-wise" when you get it next week!

And that's where the dilemma comes into the picture... spending that kind of money on a product to be used sparingly just doesn't add up (at least to me). But for @NeonNights it fits the bill, they plan to make it their sole device... a productivity powerhouse.

I suspect it will be a laptop, tablet and phone replacement all in one... so they definitely will get the most out of it.

Any idea where you gonna post the Fold 6 for sale at? Or you planning on keeping it?

Can't even get one!! Sold out in seconds it seems. So pissed.

Keep checking.

I'm sure quantities are limited but it went out of stock yesterday several times during the early access period and came back in stock. I imagine people are getting cold feet like I did or possibly credit card declines some orders disappear from the queue freeing up inventory. I read somewhere that they will be re-stocking in approximately 2 weeks after the initial orders sell out.

I hear ya, even if my day one TriFold order seems to contradict it, lol. And no judgement taken nor passed.

My parents both worked extremely hard to get our family out of poverty when I was young. My Mom sewed our clothes and made my Dad a backpack out of leftover denim so he could carry books while going to community college while working nights at the gas station. I still recall the family fear experienced when he told us he was held up at gun point. The whole trajectory of our family could've changed that evening. My Dad immediately looked for other work and my parents continued to scrounge and sacrifice to put me and my brother through school so we wouldn't have to struggle like they did. Happy to say my parents' plan worked and my brother and I take care of our families, as well as my parents. Whenever my parents need anything, I am more than happy to provide it -- it is just money. The time and memories shared together with my parents are more meaningful. The work ethic and perseverance they instilled in me has been invaluable, and I am fortunate my wife shares the same old-school values.

We live comfortably and don't care about keeping up with anyone else. We have to feel good about purchases, not stressed about it. Parked alongside our Model Y is my wife's 20-year-old Lexus that still serves us well because I've maintained it since new. It was my wife's first car she ever bought on her own. She still laments overpaying for it because she was inexperienced and literally walked into the dealership with her Mom and said I need a car today, lol. But the little extra she overpaid is not so big of a deal spread over 20 years of reliable service. Anyways, that's all to say despite the appearance of conspicuous consumption, my wife and I are value-oriented, save, and hold back in other areas so we can afford things we really want or care about. Crazy how that used Lexus has tripled in value the last five years and no plans to sell it (although strangers make weird unsolicited offers to buy it).

Edit: Sorry, I didn't mean to suck the air out of the discussion. Resume the foldable excitement!

That is good to hear you like it as I haven't come across too many endorsements of iOS 26. I am avoiding MacOS 26 after some issues with just Safari 26.

At first I thought Swappa because FB Marketplace is just too scary. But I am also contemplating just giving it to my brother since he's indicated interest in getting a foldable. I handed down past phones to my brother or cousin before and they always appreciate how pristine I maintain things. Still undecided at this point.

Good point thank you! I'll keep at it but man that was frustrating. What was worse is I was to the end and it was processing, and then my bank did the fraud check thing and blocked it and I never was able to get it in my cart again. Nooooooooooooooo!!! Lol.

TriFold supposedly still arriving today. It is on the UPS truck now but delivery window shifted later several hours to between 1pm-4pm PST.

I'm so weak. Purchased online for pickup at the Samsung store
Well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. Order was confirmed for pickup today, then about an hour later I checked and my online account says my order was cancelled. No notification or anything from Samsung. Ridiculous.

Wow, that's crazy. You think maybe those people that reserved slots in-store last week came in and made good on their reservation?

I also noticed my TriFold shipped from Ontario, CA, which is within an hour of both California Samsung Experience stores. I wonder if online orders are being fulfilled from in-store stock.
