My super bowl watching buddy. Cameras are pretty good on the Trifold. Wish they were Ultra level but it will suffice.

Stumbled upon a reddit page where some folks requested to cancel/return the TriFold and Samsung responded by offering almost $300 if they kept the phone. The sub is 4-5 days old and the loophole has apparently been "patched".

What I find most interesting is how Samsung is willing to lose another 10% off a phone they're supposedly already selling at a loss?? Some posters said Samsung offered the same 10% refund to Fold 7 owners too to avoid processing returns. That seems extremely generous on two phones models that are in high demand.

I'm not surprised at all. It happens all the time back in the day. We used to cancel orders on purpose and get an instant 5% discount and the 10% discount can be had

What are your thoughts on the Trio? It's tested tech, but a whole new form factor.
So far, I really, really love it. I loved the Fold 7 but it's just a game changer and I'm not sure I could go back to the Fold 7 after using it even with the tradeoff of it being a bit thicker and heavier. The only thing I struggle with is I've fallen back into loving iOS but I pretty much just keep my 17PM with me and hooked to wifi for fully functional iMessage, Facetime, etc. Anxious to see OneUI 8.5 on the Trifold. Hopefully in the coming months apps such as reddit, FB, X get optimized to take full advantage of the tablet layout.

Maybe I could go back to a regular foldable. Maybe. It would need to be a pretty special bi-fold.

I am getting ridiculously good battery on days where I use predominantly the cover display. No surprise there with the smaller front screen paired with the largest battery Samsung offers in a phone. Every time I unwrap the TriFold though, that 10" screen is a marvel. So even though I'm using the inner display less often right now than on the Fold 4, 5, and 6, I still prefer having the super-massive screen to fall back on. Every. Time.

And how do you go about keeping it on WiFi while on-the-go?

I would think the experience could mirror that of the Tab series… but that’s always been my issue with Samsung, they are not consistent when it comes to their messaging. Because they claim foldables are the future yet when it comes to software updates… foldables come second to slab phones.

I likely will get the iPhone fold or whatever they will call it. But no way will it be replacing the TriFold.

Its not terrible. If I'm not at home or in my office, I'm usually in my truck. For those times I'm out and about with no wifi, I have openbubbles to bridge the gap and can just leave the iPhone in my truck.

Still to be seen how the software will stack up for the iPhold.

I imagine a Samsung Fold 8/Wide commercial directed at the iPhone foldable, with the jingle: "Anything you can do, I can do better."

Will for sure not be as capable as Samsung's but I'm ok with that. As a communication device I think it's hard to beat the iPhone in my opinion. I still love the universal search, photos, and messaging on the iPhone much more. The last part probably wouldn't matter if everyone didn't use iPhones or if Apple allowed iMessage and Facetime on other platforms. I'm also one of the 7 or 8 people that love iOS 26 and liquid glass. I didn't like it at first but as they have tweaked it over the last several updates I really enjoy it.

That said, the TriFold offers something that Apple does not and likely never will. Right now it trumps any advantage that the iPhone offers to me.

I'm certainly a fan of Liquid Glass and iPadOS 26... biggest (or best) iPad update ever, which I'm hoping that this upcoming iPhone foldable will take some of those multitasking features that came with the latest iPadOS update.

I think folks criticize the translucent affect that comes with Liquid Glass, but miss the details that were added.. especially all the animations. As much as I like One UI and all that comes with owning a Galaxy phone, Apple is on another level when it comes to software design.
