Ordered the Owkey magsafe/kickstand case. Should be here Saturday. A kickstand is an absolute must on this device and I can't do without magsafe. Hopefully the bigger name companies like Spigen and Torras make some cases but I will give this a chance for now. View attachment 2602053View attachment 2602054
This case is junk. Going back. I like the feel of it actually, but the magsafe ring is trash. Feels plastic and does not rotate 360 degrees as stated and doesn't hold device up well when opened.

Thanks for sharing, I was afraid it was going to be like other bad ring kickstands. Too late to cancel mine and it arrives tomorrow.

Will for sure not be as capable as Samsung's but I'm ok with that. As a communication device I think it's hard to beat the iPhone in my opinion. I still love the universal search, photos, and messaging on the iPhone much more. The last part probably wouldn't matter if everyone didn't use iPhones or if Apple allowed iMessage and Facetime on other platforms. I'm also one of the 7 or 8 people that love iOS 26 and liquid glass. I didn't like it at first but as they have tweaked it over the last several updates I really enjoy it.

That said, the TriFold offers something that Apple does not and likely never will. Right now it trumps any advantage that the iPhone offers to me.
RCS levels the field between iOS and Android when it comes to messaging. And I can use the web interface for Google Messages on my MacBook, similar to Messages when I had an iPhone. FaceTime even allows Android users to be invited to connect too. Both platforms are highly refined and mature and, with so many services being cloud-based, the maker of your phone matters less and less each year. That is why form factor will be the driving force for innovation in the next few years. I think even Apple recognizes that (finally).

It’s hard to say until we know what Apple will do software wise

If the iPhone fold is basically iPadOS on inner display then I think it will be incredible as app wise they will be far superior for the amount which will work well straight away. There will be no optimisation issues which for me is key for any foldable

I like that Samsung are thinking let’s copy this design but I think it don’t make people buy the Samsung. Chances are people will wait a month later and buy the iPhone fold but gives a look what the iPhone fold will likely be like but saying that renders have already done that lol

Yea, I am curious how "iPad"-like the inner display will be, and how many concurrent apps can be displayed (please don't be Google-lame and limit it to just two apps), hopefully better file manager support too. And will it support Apple Pencil?

What kind of sucks for Apple though is their foldable will be a step backwards too in some regards, with less cameras and lack of FaceID. At least Samsung didn't reduce the camera count on the Fold 7 and TriFold.

I actually got the ring to rotate now. It was just really tight. Kick stand is still a little weak but its holding the phone up now. Going to test the magnet strength when I get home.

Good video. I am using the same MagSafe case and also pulled off the edge covers. Gives unimpeded access to the fingerprint sensor and reduces weight.

Ironically, I just returned the OASO disc stylus. It may be fine for doodles but wasn't good for writing and I don’t like how the disc obstructs my view to write.

Mine just arrived today. The ring spins pretty well and has a ratcheting sound. The magnet doesn't feel as strong as the Hensinple case but still solid. I just wonder if the phone will rotate around the ring while on the MagSafe car mount.

The problem is, I can't try it out yet because I'm having trouble removing the Hensinple case, lol. The little bugger has a strong grip on the phone. I will try again later. Right now my thumbnail feels too soft after doing the dishes.

I was finally able to remove the Hensinple case this morning with some pry tools.

I really like this OWKEY case! Nice, grippy surface, cutout for fingerprint sensor, plus added hinge and edge protection. I am surprised how well the kickstand works in both landscape and portrait modes, especially now that it has to prop up a 396g phone (case itself is 67g). The ironic thing is, I don't actually notice the extra equivalent weight of 8 quarters. More noticeable to me is the extra width of the phone case.

The biggest drawback, of course, is the weight. Almost 400 total grams is a big chunk in a pants pocket, but it does include built-in MagSafe and kickstand. @aggie99, have you noticed the case sits 1mm below the front cover display (meaning there's no real front screen protection and you can't, or shouldn't, place the phone face down)? Glad I have a screen protector on.

The case looks good, feels good, and fits well, the charging cable still fits within the cutouts, and the magnet has decent strength. Overall, this is my favorite case for the TriFold so far, albeit out of limited choices.

I’m not nearly as big a fan of this as I thought I would be… The cover display is just too wide AND short imo.
It's definitely going to feel different especially compared to the latest Fold. I think a floating keyboard or one side trigger might be the move, opened I think will more than make up with apps I hope.
I have mixed feelings about it. For video hands down the way to go but I'll have to see how it is for typing (is it too wide) and stuff like that.
Yes video will be excellent where I'm willing to trade off the outside which I will two hand type or as I mentioned above use the Samsung extras with keyboard

As somebody who doesn’t watch videos on their phone all that much, I’ll personally be sticking with the book style foldables vs the passport style for the foreseeable future.

My complaint right now is a lot of apps don't fit well because they're not optimizing. I hope that this gets it closer to where we can enjoy them on a foldable and get a better experience

I do not notice this on my Fold 7. It's literally flat across the screen bezels all the way to the frame. That's why I'm stumped lol. Ive been searching thru reddit and YouTube videos to see if there is any mention of it with no luck. I may go ahead and get one just to be safe but it sure feels great the way it is straight out of the box.
In the following video it's mentioned that the TriFold comes with an anti-reflective film pre-installed. That is what we're catching our thumb/finger on. Also interesting is the TriFold has better sounding speakers than the Fold 7 at the 23:00 mark.

Yea I'm thinking that is the case. At least I hope so. There is a couple hair line scratches on it but nothing major. I can deal with it I'm a pre installed film but don't want scratches on my screen. I agree on the speakers. I think they have a bit more depth than the ZF7 speakers. They sound great for such a think device. Definitely not 17PM or S25U good but more than acceptable.

After giving it a second chance and using it this weekend I agree with you that it's a decent case. Definitely offers better protection than the other. Like you mentioned, I wish it covered the top edge. That said, it covers more than the Samsung provided case. I'm rolling with this one until something better comes to market as it appears to be the best Magsafe compatible case at the moment.

I tried out these finer 4.5mm mesh stylus tips, thinking it would provide more precise control for writing, but turns out the smaller nibs don't register well enough on the TriFold screen.

Surprisingly, the ChaoQ combo real pen and stylus (with 8mm mesh tip) writes the best! I guess the larger mesh tip makes better contact at an angle when writing and works extremely well on both the TriFold's cover screen and inner display. I think the ChaoQ is a keeper and the best part is it actually works as a real pen too!

Oppo Find N6 leaks. I am sad they didn't change it to the Find X9 Pro camera alignment. This big circle is always screaming "cheap Chinese no brand sold at Liverpool in Mexico phone" to me 😅🫣
