I'm on T-Mobile and the Razr Fold isn't available there either along with most of the 2026 flips. Hopefully carriers will sell them because if not it's going to be hard to get traction in today's market.
Yeah, I don't understand what Moto is thinking. And then making us pay full price with trade in is not helping the cause as well... but AT&T does carry the 2026 Razr Flip, just not the Fold.

And I agree if they continue to go down this path... it could lead them being another OnePlus Open (which was a solid competitor to the Galaxy Fold), that didn't even have a chance to come out with a successor.

Ice Universe posted a dummy model of how the wide variant of the Fold series will look like...

Played around with this comparison tool website... me an idea of what to expect coming from the Fold 6.

This is an in depth look at the Razr Fold multitasking features.
I have to remind myself... this is Moto first time in the book-style foldable space, so looking at it from that standpoint they did an excellent job in building multitasking capabilities. But unfortunately they dropped the ball… referencing back to what MrMobile mentioned in his review.

In order to be successful in this space you have to do 2 out of 3 things.
  • Be cheaper than the competition
  • Be better than the competition
  • Be earlier than the competition
And being earlier is already ruled out... Since Samsung was the first to do it and was able to have carriers get on board in an effort to bring down the cost. I’m rooting for Moto simply out of pushing Samsung to level up their game… but with Apple entering the market, going to be tough for them to gain enough of an audience to stay in it.

Although Apple will be expensive than Moto.. rumored to come in at 2k, but at least carriers will surely be on board the iPhone Fold. Just looking at the AT&T website…there’s promotions of getting an iPhone 17PM for free with trade-in.

I hope Motorola is in it for the long game. I think their fold is a really good phone but when you can buy a Samsung with carrier deals and the Motorola isn't even available that's a tough hill to climb.

I like how he presents good points for both phones. Overall a fair assessment I think.
Yes, I agree with you. I thought he did a good job pointing out a few things
For those considering a Motorola...

I believe this was already resolved. I remember seeing a video follow up.

Yeah, he always acknowledges his preferences when it comes to certain features... just to make it known that doesn't mean it's better.

Yeah, I don't think it should deter consumers going out in buying a Moto... doubtful on them being transparent. But they responded and resolved the issue.

Apple's foldable iPhone is getting closer

According to new leaks, Apple has reportedly finalized a Liquidmetal hinge solution for its first foldable iPhone.

Rumored details:

.

Liquidmetal hinge

Titanium frame

5000mAh+ battery

Vapor chamber cooling

Prototype units already sent to global

carriers for testing

Launch still tipped for September 2026

Liquidmetal said to offer higher strength and durability than traditional materials.

If these leaks are accurate, Apple appears to be putting a strong focus on durability, thermals and battery life for its first foldable

I do like that blue color... would be nice if Apple went with that color instead of doing it black. As it closer to the date... I have feeling it's going to be higher than 2k....

That would be a nice color choice for sure and yeah I'm thinking it could be closer to that 2.5k mark

Too much hype IMO on hinge durability most are already rated 300k-500k flips minimum

Samsung hinges and others have been fine and even held up under ridiculous bend tests etc and Flossy always flipped Star Trek like his Samsung Flips 🙂

About time Apple found a use for liquid metal other than sim tool 😀

I don't think the rate of flips is the issue... more so the dust it could endure. Because dust is one of the main questions folks come to ask when it comes to a foldable... going to the beach or working in construction.

I agree, but that's all about seals, gaskets etc 🙂 to try and achieve IP68 or better

However many cite moving parts of the hinge as a failure point over slabs with no moving parts
