I created this table to give you an idea how 16:9 and 21:9 videos should size up on the Flip 7/8, Fold 8 (Wide), Fold 8 Ultra. As expected, when it comes to watching videos, the foldables will be slightly better at YouTube and TV shows, which are mostly 16:9. When it comes to theatrical movies, which are usually 2.39:1 / 2.40:1 ratio, then the slab phones will do better. Bottom line, if you're getting a foldable for mostly productivity, including browsing, with mostly YouTube and TV shows for media, then the foldables make sense.

Well, maybe I was wrong… rumors have it that we won’t get a free upgrade. Samsung plans to pass 50% onto the customer.

Bad news if you were planning on buying the Galaxy Z Flip 8 or Fold 8 and counting on Samsung's signature free storage upgrade.

This looks like the worst year to upgrade (especially when prices are rising)… thinking I should have gotten the Fold 7 last year.

That doesn't change anything.......It was the mobile division's first ever loss.....buffered by the 40 year gross high profits by the company as a whole...... The market can be fickle and mobile phone sales can ebb and flow...but chip demand is at an all time high with no end in sight because of AI growth.

Actually it changes a lot as priorities shift within Samsung electronics, and budgets shift among the three separate divisions.
Samsung mobile, their products, and Samsung mobile consumers will suffer because of it due to infighting and distrust between the different divisions of Samsung electronics. Layoffs, slashing budgets, marketing, product quality/innovation and freebies start to disappear in the name of generating and retaining profits. I wouldn’t call that ebb and flow. 😂

I wish they'd add a less glossy screen protector on the inner screen, I am sure that would already help as witnessed on my Oppo Find N5

I can see that as long as the brightness of the screen doesn't suffer I would be with it
I watched this video yesterday and it makes me wonder how the Pixel foldable is going to fare with more competition from the Razr Fold and two Samsung models not to mention how the iPhone foldable will impact the market.
