Alright, one week in Canada got me 95.3% done on my second work unit. The stink of it is that my girlfriend was fascinated by it and always wanted to know my progress but still won't install it on her computer... doh!

Well I used to be 4th in folding power, I have now fallen to seventh! So I have started looking for more machines.

Anyway I think it will take some time for catching up with you. During weekends my folding rate is higher than during working hours.

You need to use the hint method. 'If your so involved, I could always install it on Your computer'

My units keep on reseting when I guit the god dam app, My computers been folding for two months without any results, this is stupid!!!

Yes, they are not keeping up to our pace. Maybe we can get some of there members to join up when we pass them. Passing them and other teams might take a while though...

What I do to prevent this from occuring is to pause the working, give it a second or two to save whatever it's doing to disk, then quitting the app. I'm running the PC graphical version, so it's easy for me to do (i.e. right click the status icon, click "pause Work")
Not sure about the command line program or for macs, but there should be something similar. I've never had a unit go bad for me recently after I've started doing this.

I did, she's not budging... but when she gets this laptop she won't have a choice.... I'll enable it in root and she can't make it stop.. wooahhahahahah.

well i did a little test run at the lab and all has gone well so far. i got 3 667 dells to run all night and day, so i'll attack the P4s next.
i don't want to recruit too many too fast. to get back over 40% would require a lot more power. it might never happen...

Well actually I hope that you can't get back over 40% The more even the percentages are, the healthier the team is. But Team MacRumors definitely wouldn't be anywhere if it weren't for you and Rower!

You know once you get your library up and running people are gonna need to know 'how'.

Well I use the terminal version, every time I quit or stop the process all the units are reset, the whole 'work' folders contets delete by them selves.
I am trying the graphical clent, so far so good. I have quit it then opened it, and the work has been saved.
I an get lots of Win and Mac computers to fold at school (I am the Mac administrator, because no teacher is) and I also know all the passwords for the Macs and PCs at school, but the only problem is the proxy thing, unless I set up a another proxy at school to turn IP addresses like 203.30.26.6 into [sub]domain names like fox.ping.net.au. my other option is to find a public proxy like I said before.

I have been installing the folding scripts on machines in computer stores. I don't know if anyone else has done this, but if we had every CompUSA in the country we could dominate.

i like the idea. display machines don't do much all day, and they're guranteed to be on unless they have problems.
all they need is a network connection. most salesppl wouldn't know by my guesses.
and the scripts make it fast too. ill have to try it sometime. i just wouldnt do it in an apple store, since most ppl there prob know more than the average joe salesperson.

Right, I respect the Apple Store like a friend. But CompUSA, on the other hand.... Well, let's say they're making up for the hell of a time I had when I worked for them. And for that final pay check I never received when I quit!

yes that would be good, and it'll take awhile but thats where we're headed....then only one more team...which also isn't THAT far, if we keep getting members at least, which i think we will if we keep moving up in the ranks
