This is my favorite Apple TV+ show. I’ll have to catch it next fall or winter when I sign back up with TV+.
I think it's a good show to fictionalize how much more could have been accomplished had the Space Race and Cold War in general been more competitive instead of being dominated by the US in the late '60s and early '70s and a total blow-out by the '80s. There is a little soapy-style relationship drama and modern PC messaging peppered in there, but the space stuff and pinning the fictional timeline to actual historic events makes it interesting. It paces more like a fictionalized "Right Stuff" than an action movie. Is there any science in this sci-fi, or is it just a nice CGI background for other stories? Just curious; I haven't seen it yet.
Yah! I recognize Ronald D. Moore from doing the reimaged Battlestar Galactica (2004). My Apple TV+ trial ends in a couple of months, so dunno if I'll have enough time to finish out this show's 3rd season. If not, I'd rather not start a season I won't finish. No biggie. As many have suggested with Apple TV+, if you feel like you're at a good stopping point, cancel the sub, and check back later in (6 months, 1 year+) when new content gets added to the roster.
I think I read somewhere the writers had a 6 or 8 season story arch planned. Also hope it doesn’t end with S3. I had actually read that they were planning more seasons than that, so that it would catch up to current time, and even go a little further in the future, so I guess it’s still up in the air
I’m excited, but why did you guys do Gordo and Tracy like that ?
The third season of popular Apple TV+ series "For All Mankind" is set to premiere on Friday, June 10, Apple announced today. "For All Mankind" was one of the first Apple TV+ shows made available when the service launched in November 2020, and the space drama has continued to be a hit with viewers.
Created by Ronald D. Moore, "For All Mankind" imagines what the world might be like if the global space race never ended and the space program had remained a priority in the United States. The initial series saw a Russian cosmonaut making it to the moon first, devastating morale at NASA and pushing the U.S. to catch up.
The second season, which came out in February 2021, saw a decade time jump, picking up in 1983 at the height of the cold war with the United States and USSR fighting over resources available on the moon.
Season three introduces a second time jump, moving on to the early 1990s where the US and the Soviet Union are racing to get to Mars.
Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey Johnson, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt are all returning for season three.
The first episode of season three will debut on Friday, June 10, and then one new episode will follow on each subsequent Friday.

Seems a broad question...what is your scale? What's the woke factor on this?
“Star Trek: Discovery“ (the most woke, despite its sexually suggestive acronym) thru Mel Brooks “Space Balls”.Seems a broad question...what is your scale?
We've really enjoyed it. Love the references to Sea Dragon - I loved that they dug that one out of the NASA archives. It's TV so some of the sciences is suspect - and that's OK. Most people on the internet focus on the "duct tape" incident (no spoilers here) - funny thing is the science backs it up. The one part that there is zero explanation of: the shuttles getting to the moon? Not the nuclear one - but the regular shuttles. There's been a lot of discussion about how that's basically impossible..... Still, its a great show - can't wait for Season 3
Those few episodes are to get the audience emotionally involved with the characters. It's what makes you think about the last episodes you watched and crave for the next one.S2 took a few episodes to get off the ground. I was disappointed through the first ~3 episodes, but it gained momentum and finished well!
My Amazon Prime subscription will end a few months after my Apple TV+ sub. I'm NOT going to renew b/c . I'm told I really should squeeze that in, so I'll be doing that in addition to wrapping up a few other things on their video serviceIf Apple want some subscribers they should pick up The Expanse after Amazon dropped it. It was one of the best things on television for 20 years.
Their ads are out there (I recall seeing one for Greyhound at some point). They just don't oversaturate the "airwaves" like Geico and others (at least these are ones I've really noticed on YouTube, SS (streaming services) with ads, and general internet ads). However, I've largely ignored ATV+ all this time because I just assumed you needed an Apple device to watch them. It wasn't until I got a new iPad that I looked into watching it through a web browser on a PC as an option! Was disappointed that doing it this way has no way to access your "up next"/watchlist, but they did add that recently. Still no search feature :\ Not much else to discuss, but navigate here if you're so inclined....This year Apple has really been pushing out some good content. They just need better media coverage, and marketing. How do they spend so much on the show, and push for the award nomination, but won’t push the marketing for the show.
I can afford it (financially), but these days, time is the major bottleneck. I'm fine with rotating in and out SS. Having 1 or 2 major ones at a time is really more than sufficient for my needs (one main reason I'll be dropping Amazon Prime), although TBH, I can always stand to save the money as well.Everyone’s finances are their own, but if $5 doesn’t break your bank, enjoy a wonderful series if you have time to watch it. It’s a small price to organize your year around.
