After 2.0.2, successful connection to my wi-fi at home is almost impossible.

I've reset the router, re-entered the wep key, bla bla, even re-restored the phone...

The iPhone DOES see and connect to my wi-fi, i see the wi-fi icon on, but when i try safari, app/itunes store... i get that "can't connect to the internet" message

Yup, I've the exact same problem, but only on my work router. Never had any problem before 2.0.2; but now I can see the network, connect to it, but can't get onto the internet. Tried the Wifi from my MBP and it works perfectly. Tried putting in manual rather than DHCP settings, no dice. Even tried setting up an Ad-Hoc network from my MBP, and same issue.

(Even weirder, before when I turned my phone on the network would show Edge, then quickly flick to Wifi. Now, it shows Wifi at first, and flicks to Edge!)

The iPhone still works fine with the router at home.

2 differences?

I have a 1st Gen 8GB iPhone.

:apple:I mentioned somewhere before that I seemed to notice that the magnifying glass has grown a bit in size after 2.0.2

:apple:I also noticed that (with my Exchange email account) that I no longer have to go to search the Groups / Directories to look for an email address within our massive school district. I can now create a new email and begin typing in the last name in the To: field and it performs live searching via the Global Address List without the extra step. :)

Nothing else to report - EDGE is still great, WiFi is still great, my apps run fine and they update fine, and backup time / sync time is not long at all.

I realize that a spokesperson at Apple DID state that 2.0.2 would help improve 3G, but I can't speak to that. From what I've read all over the Intertubes, for most who have this issue, it hasn't.

I'm having the EXACT same problem. Have you found a solution yet?

AHA! This article fixed it for me.

after the update to 2.0.2, my email often doesn't update. I have to force quit and then it only does it once. this happens regardless of the network situation. same as other posts mentioned, it perpetually tries to update but never does.
it was fine before (2.0.1).

Also, i was one of the lucky people who didn't get any dropped calls. now i'm getting dropped calls with 3g (in NYC). I had no problems at all before the update. not too happy about the new ones i have now.

well, I was one of the few that had no issues out of the 2.0.1 update, everything worked great (except the lag and slowness that I have gotten used to). I like a DA update to 2.0.2 and now I have virtually no 3G, and if I go to a edge area I have absolutely nothing, notta, zilch - and the battery goes from 100 to 0 in like 3 hours (this is assumed as there is a connectivity issue with the 3g trying to auto switch to edge). I tried shutting off 3G in the settings did not work for me, performed 6 updates and restores, update with factory settings, setting up as new phone etc nothing worked, after the sixth I gave up and was looking for a SIM tool or paperclip to throw the SIM in to my 1st gen iphone to see make sure that it was related to the 3G phone/SW update, in the mean time I shut off 3G one more time and all when I came back to switch the SIM's the Edge network was alive and kicking so I now have no 3G, a slower edge network and a iphone 3G that is useless until Apple and co decide to pump out a fix - a bit pissed am I. None of this was happening in my 2.0.1 - wish I could downgrade
