I thought I was going to like going smaller, but now that I have the 12 Pro in hand, my gut says that I’m going to miss the extra screen real estate for photo, video, and more text on the screen. I really like the 12 Pro, but there’s a good chance that I’ll return it and get the Max. Also, the better camera will probably be calling me, too. I’ll put the 12 Pro through its paces over the next two weeks, though.

Feels kinda small to me, but I think that's because it my first day on a smaller phone in years. Going to give it a few days to see how battery life is and if I can get used to the smaller size. If I can't I'll pass the 12 Pro to my other half and get the Max for me.

I went from 11 Pro max to 12 Pro. I do welcome the size. However. I'm still undecided. I mean I welcome the change but might be a bit adjusting to. I'll still plan on pre-ordering the 12 Pro Max on launch day.

I love the size so far, just not happy with the color temperature on the new phone... Anyone else have the same difference? It seems like it's more warm (yellow/green), less true white.

I plan on using the 12 pro through the weekend and making a decision next week. As of right now, I’m leaning towards returning. It just feels really small and I’m afraid I’m going to regret not having the better camera.

I never noticed any of my iPhone to be true white right out of the box, they always have a warmer hue to me I always edit the night shift in display settings to fix it.

11 Pro Max to 12 Pro. Love the weight, how it feels in one hand and the easier one handed use. But when I'm scrolling Instagram or watching YouTube videos or webpages, I feel things are way smaller and somewhat cramped.

I have had every Plus or Max Version since the 6, with the exception of the X obviously. On the fence on what to do. I still have my 11PM and when I look at it I'm even more conflicted. Completely love the squared form factor and Pacific Blue though!

A day after getting the 12P and coming from the 11PM, I’m loving the lighter weight and one handed usage.

But I’m noticing less viewable content per safari page and on fb and Instagram. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

But the battery is taking a beating. Got up at 7am and now it’s 1.20pm here and battery already down to 45%. I did go for a drive for 5G signal checks and some GPS navigation.

I’m a heavy user and usually get to 20% by 10pm on my 11PM. So battery life might be the deciding factor for me

When you look at the price diff between 12 pro and 12 pro max, for only $150AUD you get a bigger screen and better camera supposedly, Worth it imo if you can handle the max size

This is tough! I really really like the size of the 12 Pro, but maybe since I have had the bigger phones for the last 4 years im regretting it a bit. That being said I was getting extremely tired of the max size phones and wanted something different. I think I just need a little time with it, I really don't want to go through the return process either.

Coming from an XS Max... and my 12P screen experience feels really, really small, but also oddly feels just as heavy as the Max (weight distribution maybe?). And it looks thick, almost clunky... not at all what I was expecting on that front. Maybe I’m too used to the screen real estate, but I’m not seeing a reason to get used to smaller. After a bit of internal conflict I’ve decided to return it and wait for the 12P Max.

This is a hard one. I wanted a smaller phone, but this year’s differences between the Pro and Pro Max threw me for a loop. The deciding factor for me will be battery life. We’ll see in a few days.

Have an 11PM and tried out the 12 Pro in store. Compared side by side and losing some screen real estate on websites and the typing is harder on the 12 Pro than 11PM since the keys are closer together. Going with my gut instinct, going to wait for the 12 PM

I used to think this. I’d use the xs phone thinking much more manageable. But wow this sucks. I really miss that bigger screen. Almost every time I used it I was thinking this would be much better on the xs max. Finally said screw it. I don’t even thing about the anymore. It’s max every year. Going smaller phone is a waste of time because I’d simply be returning it.

I was seriously thinking about going from my 11 Pro Max to 12 Pro, but i really want the best cameras available so its a no go.

So far going from my 11PM to my 12P has been super nice. I keep reaching for stuff that I used to have to readjust my grip for and being able to reach it. The combination of the squared off sides and the reduction in size from the max just makes it feel so good in the hand, I am not going to miss the screen size at all the only thing I am scared I might miss is the camera improvements on the max this year.

Ever since the 6 Plus I've only owned the largest sized iPhone. I just ordered the 12 Pro for in-store pickup tomorrow (was kind of shocked they had one available) to replace my XS Max. I hope I made the right choice.

My wife got her 12 Pro today (upgrading from an XS) and I spent some time with it. The screen seemed just larger enough than the XS that I could handle the reduction in size from my Max. And I could get it tomorrow! That prompted me to take the leap and place the order.

I always loved the large wide display of the Max line, but the size was always at the upper limit of my comfort level, sometimes hanging up in my pocket at inopportune times or just feeling heavy and bulky. I've mostly always been happy with it, but that occasional awkwardness was always there.

But I'm sitting here doubting the decision now. Like many here, I think I'll love the feel while missing the loss of display size. Also the Max's camera advantages are pretty huge for low light photography, and 25% more zoom. It's quite a difference.

A tough call. Tomorrow I will decide whether to proceed or cancel.

Congrats on the new phones everyone!

Just to cornfirm, dual-column apps (i.e. thread list on the left, message thread on the right) are not a thing on the 6.1” this year, correct?

So I’m still on the fence. Went from at 11 Pro Max to 12 pro. I think one reason going smaller doesn’t bother me as much is because at home I primarily use my 12.9 inch iPad Pro. I Really hope I can adapt to the size because a lot of times the 11 Pro Max would be to big and would start hurting my wrist at the time.

I'm also on the fence, I came from XS Max. The 12P feels a lot smaller in comparison... Yes its nice having a smaller phone but I think I'll miss the screen size and the better battery and camera. And the fact that people are saying the battery life isn't great is a huge deal breaker. Been using it for about an hour or so, I didn't swap phones until later in the night lol. Its just a pain having to log in to all of my apps and trying remember dumb passwords, took me almost an hour to log in into everything. I'll be getting the 12PM as well and I think ill end up just using it more and keep the 12P as a back up or something. That's just my opinion

Please everyone, IGNORE the comments about battery life on the Pro for a couple of days.

When you move to a new iPhone, it does a LOT of things in the background to fully set it up. It downloads iCloud backups. It indexes everything for Spotlight. It runs AI functions on your photos (face recognition etc). This takes a fair amount of time and uses power.

Battery life will be well below normal on any new iPhone that you restored a big backup to. Battery life cannot be accurately judged for a few days.
