What do you think? Do you miss the screen size? Is it just perfect? Is the form factor better? I know it just released but I’d like some gut reactions if possible.

Thanks!

The Max phones are more like a phablet. A hybrid. It's an oversized phone which I owned for a year and I regret buying it as I sold it for half of what I paid for it 😥

The size was always a problem. Too big. Too heavy. 6.5" is huge. 6.7" is even worse.

For me 6.1" is the perfect size.

Hopefully I feel the same going from a xs max to a 12, no going back, already promised someone I’ll sell them my xs max 🤦‍♂️😂

I’m not going to give apple more money for a pro max this year since they went backwards compared to the 11 pro max from last year, let’s make the phone 7.4mm thin add 5G and add a tiny ass battery, why not make the phone a bit thicker and add a bigger battery to offset the 5G battery drain.

Looks like I’m team iPhone 12 till the next iPhones get released.

I went back to my 11PM and I’ll wait on the 12PM. I love the size and the camera, but it pretty much ends there. I didn’t realize that I wouldn’t have 2 column apps on the 6.1 screen, and that’s something I use often. Not excited about the Pro Max size, but I’ve grown accustom to its features.

whats 2 column app?

Struggling to adapt to the larger scaling. Everything just seems comically large even at the smallest font size (since many apps don't use it). Why couldn't they just keep the same scaling as the 11/XR?

Maybe because not everyone has 20/20 vision like you. 😂

Definitely more compact phone. But honestly it feels like a great size. It will be interesting to see the camera reviews for the max. If they are a lot better I might buy the promax and return this pro

You won’t be able to wait that long. We are three weeks out from Pro Max phones shipping. Deciding whether or not to return the Pro will have to be done before the Pro Max reviews start rolling in.

Depends where you are. In the UK you get 14 days to initiate a return and then a further 14 days to actually get the phone either posted, it handed back to an Apple store.

I currently have a 11 PM with a 12 Pro on order -- not sure it will arrive before the 12 PM is released or not. I would prefer a smaller device, but plan on ordering a 12 PM to test out. Even though I'm not a professional photographer by any means, I'd still have FOMO with the better camera on the Max.

We'll see how it pans out.

the battery on the 12 Pro is not that much better than my XS Max.... I'm going to move to the Pro Max to see if its any better

This is tough. I like the pro 12 but the battery sucks. I have to plug it in twice a day and my 11 pro max once a day. The size is perfect.

Fourth day in and I'm leaning towards returning the 12 Pro and getting the 12 Pro Max.

Love everything about the smaller phone, just not the battery.

Up since 6am and now 2pm.
2hr 30min screen on time but battery already down to 54%.

I went from xs Max to 11 pro and now thinking I want that Max lifestyle back. Pros and cons but overall I think the bigger phone suits my needs better.

Same, battery life isn't great. It was about the same on the XS Max and that phone was already at 94% capacity

So I went for it today. Picked up my reserved iPhone 12 Pro in graphite to replace my XS Max. I’ve been using it for the last eight hours or so, and I’m honestly not missing my Max too much. The Pro feels light and secure in the hand, and I’ve adjusted quickly to typing on it. The display doesn’t seem drastically smaller to me. The camera is taking outstanding photos, and I’ve been having fun with Night Mode.

We’ll see how the next week goes but I think I made the right choice. I may be done with giant phones.

Got my 12 today upgraded from a xs max, love everything about the phone, only problem I’m having eyes are getting a bit sore and it’s hard to focus sometimes when looking at certain text on websites, people reckon give it a week for my eyes to adjust to the smaller screen.

remember when I went from my x to xs max took my eyes a few days to adjust to the new screen.

Anyone else having this issue?

really liking this size, don’t want to go back to a big phone

Keen to hear how your battery life goes over the next few days.

I’m very happy with the decision. The Pro Max was too large for me to comfortably use one handed, and didn’t fit into my jeans or work trousers very well.
I think I only purchased the 11PMax as I felt like I needed a bigger jump from the XS (which I also shouldn’t have bothered with as it was not noticeably different from the X in hand) and wanted the bigger battery.

The 12 Pro feels just about perfect to use

went from an xs max to the 12 pro. at first it felt okay but i’m starting to really miss the bigger screen. If my xs max was slightly smaller it’ll be
good but 6.1’ might be too small since it’s similar dimensions to the regular 11 pro last year.

I wish they kept the 6.5’ screen & shrunk the bezels & dimensions like they did with the 6.1’.

Might try out the 12 pro max
