Yeah crazy isn’t it! So I’m less worried about the single speaker now - yeah it’s a bit crap but it’s enough for a quick video watch (like when someone sends you a link vs a full movie).

I’m also not worried about the battery so much.

The one thing I wasn’t worried about I am now - no ultra wide!

The verge video did it, she said she had to keep moving back to get landscapes in.
I'm not worried. I just wonder how much time reviewers think the average person has, maybe they have the time to film landscapes all day, but most people will only be using the camera for special functions I would think, or maybe I'm just weird.

Nothing in the reviews to make me second guess my Air preorder! 🤩

Battery life is pretty much level with the regular iPhone 17 which has a larger battery.

Thermal performance is good and after a while the regular 17 became hotter.

The single speaker is loud and clear, of course it’s not going to be as good dual speakers. But sounds good to me.

Roll on Friday!
Good thermal performance 🤣 🤣 🤣

If you stick it in a fridge!

Early reviews are about on par with what I expected. Nice to see it holding up in some early battery testing. I’m not surprised it throttles pretty aggressively, I guess the pro chip is mainly for efficiency/battery? I’m curious to see if it can retain higher performance with one of those external heatsink phone coolers. Unlikely a dealbreaker for people choosing the Air anyway.

Found one that's Qi2 and 15W, also 6.5mm thick. I'm a bit dubous about the claims tho, so I won't recommend you buy one until mine arrives and I check it out.

Nice. I’m in no rush since I only use these when I travel. I have a 5w anker and it’s painfully slow so the next one needs to be at least 12w.

The regular iPhone 17 ended up hotter in this test. No fridge needed for exaggeration here lol

I find all this conjecture hilarious given my usage. Heavy usage for me is taking too many screenshots. And I literally have only 12 non-apple apps, I just counted. Gaming is Tom's Gold Run and Uncrossed. (OMG...I better get out the cooling pad.) /smh.

The tests were under processor intensive usage. I never play any games let alone what they were playing lol

I will go to an Apple Store on Friday (my day off) to check out all of the colors. I'm leaning Sky Blue. Could go Cloud White or Space Black if the moment suits it.

I'm also getting a cheap clear bumper case from Amazon to see how that works with the Air.
Got the generic bumper case for the Air. According to my postal scale it weighs 0.8 oz. Oddly enough it was the only non-metal bumper case for the Air I could find at Amazon earlier this week. The rest of this week I am downsizing my 15 Pro to only the phone and a screen protector, which bumps its weight up from 6.6 oz. to 7.1 oz. This is mostly to compare the two phones as I would use them. By my calculations they would be 8 oz. for the 15 Pro with case and screen protector to 7.0 oz. for the Air with the bumper case and a screen protector. The screen protector is a non-negotiable item in my book. Since the practical weight difference between the two is nearly negligible, it would take some serious convincing on the Air's part for me to buy it. Maybe I'll go with a screen protector only and reserve the bumper case for hiking or more rugged situations. Can't wait for Friday.

The 15 pro was pretty lightweight but you're also comparing a 6.1" screen vs a 6.5". I think 1oz isn't a huge difference but it's noticeable in hand day to day, at least to me.

I have the 16 pro now and it's actually fairly light without a case, especially after the 15 PM. If it hadn't of been for the air I would have probably just kept it for another year.

Whoa! They are really starting to get cranky in a couple of those other air threads.

Anybody else impressed by the bend tests, these will be a lot sturdier than a lot of people thought. I don't always watch jerryrig since few people are going to be doing that to their phones. I'm usually more into his screen scratch testing.

No shipping notice for me yet.

I got excited this morning because I got a tracking number in UPS from Apple and it said it was delivering tomorrow, but after about five minutes I realized it was my wife's case 🤣

The bumper case's greatest value may be in its insulation properties. All of the titanium models get toasty without a case on.

I had a 16PM for 2 weeks but downsized to the 16P for the past year. I think it's about as heavy as I like a phone. I would've kept mine for another year as well.

From early reviews it doesn't seem to get too hot. I'm sure it can if you're putting it through heavy usage like gaming, but that's probably not something you're doing regularly if you're picking the Air.

Awww bummer. I almost did that too, they had the battery pack listed first, but it's not arriving until Monday. And I don't think I need an appointment, I can just go whenever.

The 16P is a great phone. I am going to really miss it, but I need the trade in credit. And I wanted a slightly larger screen, I think the slight increase in the air will be fine.

I'll likely miss the ultra wide but everything else I'm fine with. I'll also have 2 weeks to change my mind 😅
