iPhone Air For those getting the air

Arriving Sept 19, while wife's Pro Max isn't arriving until the following week. Not at all surprised

That's another reason I didn't want the Pro just yet, last year I wanted the pink Plus and since hardly anyone else wanted it I got it immediately.
Because I had just a few too many questions about the iPhone Air to order it for myself, I ended up getting one for my wife, in gold 256. Then I’ll decide whether I order one for myself after I get to see how it behaves in real world situations.
My reasoning for wanting the Air vs updating to the 17 PM, from my 15 PM, is that I prefer the more svelte design and the new PM models just look to functional. It’s sort of the same way I prefer the look of the MacBook Air vs the Pro.
The main thing that makes me hesitant on the iPhone Air is the camera. I use my PM for work photos now, with lots of macros, and not being able to do that could be problematic.

Definitely report back here, I intend to do the same, especially on the battery which is one of the biggest questions for people on the fence.
I guess it depends on how bad you want it and if you can deal with multiple charges on your credit card.

I am not concerned with battery as I generally end the day with 30-40% on the ProMax. But will pick up the battery pack if I keep the phone for days when I'm going to be out and about a ton.
I honestly think I probably made the "wrong" choice and will end up returning it, but I know what I'm getting with the Pro Max. Having to go back back to my old phone for a week or two while I wait for the PM won't be the end of the world.
Sucks, now the pro max is not available at any stores. I pressed buy too quickly worried all the dates would slip. Should have done pickup from the start. Oh well, at least the air arrives on the 19th with my watch

Just grab both and decide on the 19th. Returns so easy with Apple. You can even cancel it before it ships if you change your mind before then. It only charges you once it ships. That’s what I did 😆🤙

Get to track both and have fun the next 7 days....

Gold phone best phone. I ordered 256Gb. I got a black bumper for some contrast. Not sure about that yet. I also bought the Beats iPhone air case. We will see how they look. I also bought the battery pack for long Disney World days.

The late one gets sent back on Tim's dime - sort of a message to Apple that messing with pre-order folks at 5am is not good.
Apple made it a very easy choice.
- The Air is thin and light, which will be a joy to hold and use (priority #1).
- It has a good size display at 6.5" (almost too big, but not, because of the depth and weight).
- It has ProMotion, the only Pro feature I couldn't live without.
- It has the A19 Pro, so I won't be missing anything performance wise. And I don't game on iPhone, that's what my PC is for, so I couldn't care less about the 6th CPU core.
- Over the years, I have occasionally used the Telephoto and Ultrawide cameras, but it is not something I can't live without. Most of the best shots I've taken have always been with the Main camera. But that's also always been because it was a superior camera system to the others. Allegedly, that changes with the 17 Pro, but it remains to be seen. Previously the Main camera is the only one I would dare use indoors, for example. The others were way too noisy. I hope Apple made some progress on that, but I will forgo that hope in favor of a device that has more day to day usability.

Canceled hers and will be picking up in-store Sep 20. My Air is still a Sep 19 delivery. Deliveries for Pro Max are already pushing Mid-October, pretty crazy.
I almost did the same but by the time I figured it all out the pro max stock was later than the delivery.
Seems like after all these years of not much changed the design change is making more people finally update their old iPhones.
