I wonder if it will work but since it senses light it seems like it will be no problem

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00MGE1WYG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 here it states that the tempered glass screen protector is "HD Retina Clarity: 96% transparency and oleophobic anti-smudge coating maintain your iPhone 6 / iPhone 6s's original high-definition retina viewing experience and high-sensitivity touch response." meaning that the sensitivity of the touch will unlikely decrease if you apply a tempered glass to your screen. Anker are pretty official too, so they've probably tested this for sure because they wouldn't advertise under false pretences.

Clarity is one thing. But I don't think they're referring to force touch, which is something new and which was never considered before. Just plain touch of course is unaffected.

Because they're not out to make money nor do they have an actual 6S/6S Plus either.

Logic tells me a glass cover is going to diminish 3D Touch if not hamper it entirely. Just an educated guess.

Maybe so, but I used to have a tempered glass screen protector on my Apple Watch and this didn't hamper the force torch or pressure sensitivity whatsoever - but who knows for sure ey?

Watch Force Touch and iPhone 3D Touch don't work the same way. They are two different implementations of the tech. So comparing the two shouldn't be done.

Pretty good trick testing something that hasn't shipped yet. Did they get a pre-release sample?

Not likely. Though there were articles on iClarified about someone obtaining the parts of a pre release 6S and assembling them into a partly functional device, that was probably only a single instance.

Um. That "description" in no way says anything about 3D Touch. It's talking about not effecting the sensitivity of the digitizer that detects where you are touching.

I was wondering if glass screen protectors would work with 3D Touch as well so reached out to Spigen and asked about their glass screen protector.

They informed me that their glass screen protector would be compatible with 3D Touch.

Based on that, i think any companies glass screen protectors would be fine.

Spigen is claiming their curved glass protector (7.99) on Amazon works with 3D touch. At that price point it was worth a shot, for me at least.

Why doesn't someone just place a tempered glass protector over their watch and see what happens? I'd do it, but I kinda can't be bothered going to buy another glass protector haha

I've mentioned it a few times. But I don't think it's a fair comparison to compare the watch Force Touch to the iPhone 3D Touch. They work differently.

3D Touch is 96 sensors between the display panel and backlight. It measures the distance of light between the backlight and display panel to determine wether it's a light press (Peak) or hard press (Pop). The watch has no backlight because it's OLED, so its implementation of how it detects a press is different.

I'm very picky about keeping my iPhones / iPads / Mac Laptops clean scratch free and looking like new.

That said, I'm also one that buys it all for me to use and enjoy... Not to keep it nice so the person that buys it can enjoy it.

Nor do I baby it. You'd be surprised how just a little care and maintenance can keep it all like new. I don't buy snake oils like iKlear or special highly overpriced cleaners. I use a regular microfiber cloth moistened with water if needed. Keeping a fresh clean cloth in my laptop bag plus one in the center console of my car makes keeping things clean very easy.

I carry my iPhone in my front pants pocket all by itself. Doing so has produced excellent results. I've had every new iPhone since the original and not one is scratched. Nor do any have the highly accepted but totally mythical "micro scratches" when I read about micro scratches I laugh.

Yes indeed it appears that way. But fact is if you don't wash your microfiber cloth regularly it'll create this very distinctive pattern of "micro scratches." They won't usually rub off when you run your finger across them so the impatient user jumps to the conclusion they have a scratched display glass.

You should see the eyes light up of a user that hands me their phone so I can "see the proof of micro scratches" only to watch me wipe them away like magic :D

multiple posters on this thread said:
Blah blah blah...Why do you need a screen protector? I don't need one, I've never had a scratch etc...

I constantly read posts that proclaim because that poster's usage doesn't require "X", therefore they can't in their life imagine how anybody would require it. Since when did Apple users lose their imagination to think differently? It only takes a moment to think about the vast array of possible usage scenarios for a device as functional as an iPhone. To be honest, it's absolutely astounding the amount of times this happens on these boards. This thread alone has it on every page... Over and over. It would be pleasantly surprising if people would just think that maybe they aren't the only snowflake in this crazy world.

This is a very good thread because i was thinking the same. I think purchase a 2.4mm to be safe. Most are 3mm glass protecters though.

Thanks for the info. I will probably just order the spigen and if it doesn't work well, it is pretty cheap so no big loss.
