If you are screen protector-less then I can guarantee that you have micro scratches. Absolutely guarantee it. UNLESS you have just taken the protector off within 1 day. OR you don't let the screen touch anything, which is near impossible.
Thanks for the flashlights. Is that your new sig. or sth?

It's what I would use to find the micro scratches.

Disclaimer - I don't use a screen protector but used to be EXTREMELY ocd about it. As in I wouldn't even open the sealed iPhone box to look at the iPhone without having bought a screen protector first.

...why?

Why what? Why was I OCD? Because I was an idiot. Because I wanted to keep my phone pristine. I've since learnt that I don't really give a **** anymore seeing as I buy the new iPhone every year anyway so I now use it caseless and protector less.

All I'm saying is the people that say they have no scratches on their screen and don't use a protector are in denial or just cant see them. I have 3 or 4 of them on mine that are all less than 1mm long and can only be seen at specific angles.

Yes.. Exactly.. I've spent last two pages saying the same thing.. It's a little tricky finding the microscratches - and that's why I think people say they have 0.. There's just no way.

Why go through that only to discover scratches and be unhappy?

If a user can't see scratches, then for all intents and purposes the user's phone doesn't have scratches.

I don't know why guys are so hellbent on convincing others they need to be unhappy with their "scratchless"devices.

I know my phone has micro scratches. I've seen a couple of tiny ones in direct sunlight when I am moving the phone around. Doesn't bother me at all. Don't have any scratches I can see with it off under normal conditions. Scratches like that are inevitable on a glass surface. I just don't give a ****. It's a phone I replace every year. I am going to enjoy it and use it and not cover it in tons of unnecessary things. I sell them when I'm done and everyone is amazed at how like new they look.

I just like to see people make themselves feel better by making useless points :) I suffer no illusions.

Well thank you for finally coming clean and admitting that your microscratches are there. No more of this ""0" scratches" nonsense you've been saying up to now. Big of you!

I've always admitted that when looking straight onto the phone you can't see the micro scratches… So in a way then - who the hell cares. But I just can't stand the pompous attitude of some people saying "who the hell would ever want to use a screen protector because they don't need it" - implying they can be scratch free without one. That's pure utter bullsh1t and easily disproved.

I only started being concerned about microscratches because of my OCD about a perfect screen but then more fuel for my concern came because on my 4S I got less for trade-in because of all the micro scratches on my screen. I just want people to stop believing the delusion that they can be microscratch-free without a screen protector.

I thought the same until recently. Then I examined my 5s with a 10× Belomo loupe and a flashlight, and, indeed, there are lots of micro scratches.
Of course you did. Even Apple's precious gorilla glass isn't immune from microscratches. But you don't need any magnification to see them.. just a tilt and a light source. Though I haven't a clue what a 10x Belomo loupe is. Lol..

The only reason I speak up in these threads is because of the elitist condescending vibe about not needing a screen protector to keep a 100%- scratch free screen. As if those of us who use them are just being duped into buying snake oil. It's as simple as this... ALL screens not protected by a screen protector have microscratches that can affect resale value. 100% of them. It's your choice to go naked.. But just don't live in the delusion that you can be 100% scratch free like that.. And drop the vibe about the rest of us that choose to MAKE SURE we're 100% scratch free with a protector.

No, seriously, I can’t see them with the naked eye. That’s why I was really surprised as I saw them under magnification. (Maybe a problem with my eyes though.) I already ordered a screen protector for the 6s Plus.

That’s a highly recommendable loupe [1, 2], way cheaper than an iPhone. But you can’t make proper phone calls with it.

Here's the difference between us. My phone is a tool, not an investment looking for a return. I use it all day everyday. I don't baby it other than keeping it clean. It looks the same as it did the day I got it. Anything "micro", I don't care about. It's the same with a cars clear coat. Looks good but really up close, scratches. Unavoidable.

I want to use the device as intended and without covering it in unecessary layers of plastic and glass.

A very fair assessment and position to have, Ab! We agree. I just wanted you to make intellectually honest statements in your position - first. The ""0" scratches here" claiming vibe wasn't...

For what it's worth I'm sorta like you - not about the front screen - but about the camera lens. I love the feel of a naked phone.. So I only use a front screen protector and nothing else which exposes that raised camera lens on a 6/6+, as well as the back surface and rounded edges to lots of scratching or nicking. But I can't stand the feel of a bumper or back case that would protect that camera. You're right that we all have to assess the risk we can live with. For me - I don't care about a nicked camera, back as much - but a scratched front screen - can't bear.

Thx for the polite debate, AB.

So I received the 6S a few hours ago, and I can safely say that 3D/Multi-Touch does work with Glass Screen Protectors (as I predicted). I tried 3D touch with it on, and without - works exactly the same.

Haven't seen a thread on this so I apologize in advance if it's already been made..

Do you guys think there will be any issue with Tempered Glass Screen Protectors and the iPhone 6S? More specifically, will it impact the new 3D touch in any way?

I know that nobody here knows for sure, I just wanted to hear everybody's thoughts.
You shouldn't have a problem with most screen protectors, especially if they are 0.3mm or less thick

For me too - with the ZAGG HD glass protector.. 0.4mm. Still no prob of any kind with it even though Apple said no larger than 0.3.

Great news will put my Zagg on. Has saved my 6 plus screen once already from fall that demolished the Zagg but protected the screen.

Judging by the drop test video that was posted to iclarify it looks like the 6s screen is very durable.

Installed the spigen glass screen protector specifically for the iPhone 6s and force touch works fine. It's my first glass screen protector, and I'm loving it so far!

We all want to believe that, I know I do, but dropping is so problematic. 6 foot drop and it's ok next 2 foot drop it cracks. How it hits is so critical to if it breaks or not. On past iPhone, 5s, I used the Tech21 bumper. I have to say that really worked well. The energy absorbing material inside does work. It's just bigger than the Aplle leather case.
