Hello,

I am looking for free VNC app for macOS.

I would like to have VNC server on Windows machine and something like VNC viewer on macOS machine.

Do you know maybe such app?

Regards :)

VNC is not the most secure way to remote into a computer. Why not use Microsoft's RDP?

Have you tried the built-in VNC viewer? In a Finder window, press Command + K and type vnc://example.local to connect.

I use RealVNC. Great product, but it's not free. It offers macOS/Windows interconnectivity (as well as Linux machines). It's Apple Silicon native as well.

Just for anyone who lands here.
RealVNC is no longer free and just threw all its free users off.
I'm now using one called Remote Ripple, which has scaling.
Works with My OSX High Seirra. probably works with most Macos, Linux, Windows and is FREE

I tried that today ( and many others ) , still haven't got one to connect to my Raspberry Pis on local network . It used to be a breeze. Remote Ripple didn't work. I don't get why Raspberry OS is bundled with RealVNC still - I guess that is the root of the problem .

Update - I have wasted so long looking for an alternative to Real VNC , then I asked their support "is there a free 'Lite ' version and there is! Really. And it will have to do ( 3 devices and only one at a time ) because my devices are raspberry pis and I couldn't get anything else to work on them. As before , RealVNC works very well.

This is the link that the support person gave me, necessary because the free plan called Lite is extremely well camouflaged on their site .

At my work, we're using Microsoft Remote Desktop (free) to control from our Macs the two PCs we have in the office. Seems to work really well. Is that what we're talking about doing-- screen sharing into a PC?
