Best launch experience I ever had.

I did get the Wii at launch and that went pretty smooth too. Except the wait for the pre-order, I camped out and waited for like 8 hours. And it was cold.

This year, no waiting more than 30 min. Got a 15 min wait at Best Buy for the pre-order. About 30 min for my appt today. Another 5 min at the Apple Store because I came in only for bumper. Grabbed a bottle of Smart Water with the iPhone 4 in my pocket. Felt lucky I didn't have to wait 2 hrs just to get in the store. Got a free t-shirt too and that Apple Store was already opened for over 3 hrs. Fast, fast, fast just like the iPhone 4. No lag and some great vibes at that brand new Apple Store. So many smiling faces including mines.

"In, out, hello, goodbye..."

Looking forward to doing it again in maybe 2012. My next launch experience might be for the Nintendo 3DS. I'm starting to love these type of launch events. Like the night before Christmas for grown-ups! Good times!

At the Northbrook Apple Store (Northbrook, IL), we got coffee from Starbucks, boxed food from a place called "Hel's Kitchen" (yep, spelled like that), and a guy from Godiva was giving everybody some free chocolates as well.

Westchester, NY: Godiva chocolate, Starbucks coffee, Ben and Jerry's ice cream. There might've been other stuff but I only had to wait two hours.

I was at South Coast Plaza in Orange County, CA.

We got offered ice water and coffee from early on, and I was long gone by then, but they started giving away sandwiches starting at midday. :)

I stopped by the Mall at Millenia Apple store to pick up a portable HD (I was in and out in 10 minutes), and they were giving out Smart Water and regular water. I wasn't there long enough to see whether they gave out food, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I must say, they were prepared at that store. Had a whole bunch of regular AT&T reps set up and a few AT&T suits and ties. The process seemed to be moving smoothly.

They made a few passes with sandwiches at Victoria Gardens. As well as a "sweets" pass, water, and iced tea.

At the Woodlands Mall, Tx Apple Store they gave out Smartwater with cups and ice, coffee, milk for the kids and Chick-fil-a sandwiches. Almost made up for the 7 hour wait. There was also a Zagg/invisibleShield kiosk going up and down the line giving out discounts for their stuff. We all mocked the Verizon kiosk as they just sat there and stared at the long ass line for the Apple Store.
