Friend's $90,000 Nissan GTR! (iPhone 4)

Too bad Toyota decided not to fix the Supra (as if there was anything to fix) and instead make a $300,000 LF-A you can only rent for 2 years.
 
I love how this thread has turned into a general discussion of fast/exotic/expensive cars. 😀

My dad had a leased MBZ SL550. He doesn't want to do anything special to it (he is the kind of guy who gets a car to go from point A to B) but he still has a $100,000+ car. Im not gonna say what he makes precicely ... But somewhere over the $500,000 a year mark.

But some people just don't like cars. I have a relative who leases the same car as my dad but makes over $10million a year ... And I also have relatives that make something close go that and have 10 super cars in their garages.

The reason my parents could never lease cars is I love to tinker with them, intakes, exhausts, superchargers, etc. Not to mention I take the cars to the track all the time so they get abused and harassed on a consistent basis. Also I could never stand the mileage limits! We drive our cars a lot all year round and both my parents work over an 70km away from our house, and I go to school 200km away and drive home every now and then.

I always thought leasing was more expensive as well? Is it? I don't really understand how it works well enough to make a definitive assessment 😛.

Yup, that's the huge guy driving the stark grey GT-R. Sometime's I feel that he should park it running and someone to jump in drive off just a block to have him run and get some exercise. lol. Think he'll trade for my Trek 6000? 😉

Dude, if I was his doctor I'd recommend that trade. That dude isn't going to be around to enjoy his GT-R much longer if he doesn't get out and run a few laps or something!

Ah, that felt good. I suppose, these 'working men's cars' make sense if you are a working man and your wife has a few tattoo salons. But if I'm honest, I wouldn't be seen dead in some of these cars, I'd rather stick a much cheaper and older C-class or 3-series. Or even a VW Golf (what's known as Rabbit in the US, I think). Something understated and not as vulgar. Although I accept that C-class grills are kind of pushing the boundaries of modesty.

Yes, I am a snob, but so far, motoring worked out pretty well for me.
 
Personally, I would buy an old muscle car frame with no engine in it for a couple thousand (provided it's a popular model) and then throw $85,000 into the motor and body. 😎

Drive down the street with a motor that rises higher than the roof of the car. 😀

Now that would be awesome! Something nobody else has because you made it. To me a lot of the "cool" cars aren't as cool as they used to be since they are so popular.

$2400 for the lift and tires.

Plus a few hundred in accessories.

$4000 after it's all said and done. That's like 3 car payments for you people.

My next car, once I'm out of college, will be a 1968 Ford Mustang. Fastback of course. Throw a 427 CJ or a newer more powerful engine, and a sick exhaust system and boom, one bad ass ride. 😎

The plan being (since I'm still at uni) is once I get rich, I'll have that baby above for basically murdering tarmac, while I'll have the requisite baby Aston, M3, or 911 Turbo S for the daily drive.

my plan, have a SS next year (black). then save up for a R8 in a few years. then eventually have a WRX for a hobbie/thrashing car, and get some sort of Merc/BMW for cruising.

Hell yeah they are.

In the US of A, it's a starting price of about 50k for the 335i. In Australia, the starting price is about 105-110k (and that's not including about 10k in taxes).
