Well-known leaker Ben Geskin today tweeted a photo of what he claims are front glass panels for Apple's widely rumored trio of new iPhones, all of which are expected to be announced in September as usual.

The lineup is expected to include a second-generation iPhone X, a so-called iPhone X Plus, and what will essentially be a budget iPhone X, with 5.8-inch, 6.5-inch, and 6.1-inch screen sizes respectively.

Geskin tweeted a second photo of the front glass panels with wallpapers, providing a realistic visualization of the 2018 iPhones.

As he depicted in mockups last month, Geskin says the 6.1-inch model with an LCD panel will have slightly thicker bezels compared to the iPhone X and iPhone X Plus, which are expected to have OLED displays.

A similar photo was uploaded to Slashleaks by user Dimitri12, providing a closer look at the thicker bezels on the 6.1-inch model.

All three devices are expected to feature edge-to-edge displays with a notch for the TrueDepth sensors that enable Face ID.

The new lineup of iPhones should be unveiled in just a few months, likely alongside larger-display Apple Watch Series 4 models, new AirPods, Apple's multi-device charging mat AirPower, and other announcements.

Basically what we were already expecting the 2018 iPhones to look like in the first place given the redesign was last year.

The 6.1 could be the sweet spot for a lot of customers. I own a 8+ now but I'd gladly go back to something smaller and the 6.1 may be the right model for me. I'm not sure I'm willing to renounce to the second camera and to 3D touch, so I might as well go for the 5.8 model.

Lower quality display.

OP: Have you ever seen a 75” tv that costs less than a 55” tv?

Edit: I am not sure where the confusion is coming from, but I will elaborate.

I know that larger tvs can cost less than smaller tvs.

My question above was for the OP who asked “I still don't understand how a "budget" iPhone will be larger in screen size than the (smaller) high end iPhone.”

My iphone se looks better, they have put John Ive to Campus prisons and they let Marketing guys design "full screen" phones. Would never buy them. Can't tolerate ugliness.

A major part of that is because of the cheaper price point in a larger form factor. It’s still offers a refreshed form factor coupled with with Face ID, the major difference being it doesn’t offer an OLED display, but I think most consumers can look past that given Apple has had reputable LCD panels in the past.

The hand fatigue I experienced when using a 8 plus for one minute after using the X was crazy..wish the 6.1 was OLED and minus 3D Touch I know Apple did this to have a bigger difference between the 5.8 and 6.5 display(which will explain the cost I’m sure) I don’t think I can go back to an iPhone that’s the size of a plus..but damnit I want that screen size lol

As others have said, it's due to the medium sized one using an LCD panel instead of OLED.

But if you're asking why they're doing this, it's mainly due to the asian market where people are buying these very large "phablet" phones for relatively very little money. So Apple needs to provide not just a large phone for that market but a competitively priced one.

Looks pretty disappointing for 2018. Will probably upgrade MBP instead and keep using iphone X.
Sees a picture of leaked glass for upcoming iPhones, disappointed.

I've seen a 2 carat diamond that was cheaper than a 1 carat diamond. At the same store (each costing the same as ten iPhones). The 1 carat was best colour, best cut, and absolutely faultless.

You need to purchase the 3.5 carat that looks like it was pulled out of a 25 cent toy machine. Lol.
