which screen is better btw, the glossy or the normal one?

go for glossy one. I've had mixed reviews from people as well, many have been damnin glossy screen but the people who hate glossy screen apparently don't, or never own a glossy.

:)

I think there was a thread somehwere in MR posting about this. Needless to say, once the Australian Apple Store is up with the latest C2D MBP, I'm definitely getting the glossy one :)

Wow

Store down on a Tuesday morning, huh?

When I saw it the first thought in my mind was this thread was going to be going nuts!

:D

definitely matte - i am constantely annoyed when i have to work on a glossy screen
but thats only my opinion - my roomie here loves her glossy-screen

On Christmas eve!

This is so nerve wrecking...this has to be MBPs, the entire store hasn't been down like this for quite a while.

(Credit card in ready position!)

Credit card, awwww... My credit card's limit only half the price of the MBP I'm willing to pay. Is there a way to sort of pay it in cycle? =(

I have used both a MacBook Pro non glossy and a MacBook glossy. The MBP has been my main machine but I have spent weeks working on the glossy MacBook. I can concretely state that I utterly utterly HATE the glossy screen. There are several problems with glossy...

1) The reflections. Glossy is fine for watching movies but try to sit down and do some actual work in Word, Excel or xcode and the reflections will drive you mad.

2) The viewing angle. Look at a primarily white screen, like the web page for the white MacBook from above on a glossy screen. The colors all merge into one and you can't see images clearly. Glossy screens have a completely terrible vertical viewing angle, and the horizontal is bad too.

3) Diagonal lines all over the screen. There is an annoying diagonal line pattern all over the glossy screens. Look closely at any light colored image and you'll see the diagonal lines. Once you notice them up close, you'll be able to see them even from a distance.

So, I've used the glossy screen plenty, and I hate it.

Is there any possibility to help you
to get your site back?

Just kidding, they've never had an Apple page. I'm Hungarian and our store is up and running. Apple couldn't care less about small markets.

I think you can use more than one method to pay, but you'll need to call your order in (the 'over-the-phone' store people are usually really nice).

When I was a student I grabbed one of their student loans, which only covered a portion of my laptop then (Rev 1 TiBook), and I put the rest on a card.

Just out of curiosity, in what environment do you usually use your glossy screen on? Could you please also mention your experience with the non-glossy one? Greatly appreciated :)
