Full Mac Line To Be Updated In Q2? Black iMac?

That would be their Q2 finanical results. Their Q2 financial quarter is January through March. The Q2 2007 in the article is calendar year 2007 which of course runs through the end of June.
 
Freakin' black!

Ok here's the deal... White is one of the things that sets Apple apart from nearly everyone else in design and appearance and it looks beautiful and clean. I will admit the black Nanos looked pretty sleek, and I probably wouldn't mind a black iMac as long as it was glossy, but guess what??? the black matte MacBooks look like CRAP. If they were glossy they might have looked cool, but they don't at all, and now you people are wanting matte black Mac Pros and Cinema Displays??? LOL HE!!, why don't we just have Apple start making UGLY A$$ PCs....that's a great idea :) haha. I guess that's why you people are NOT Apple's designers, GOOD THING. :)

OOH OOH I have a great idea....start making black electronics....or better yet, beige...that's original.................. UM NO, THINK DIFFERENT!!! :)
 
I get a laugh out of people saying they won't buy one unless there black LOL.
Does it really matter what the hell the color is? all I care about is what I am getting inside and the best deal I can get.

i agree. A red iMac would be quite disconcerting. But a black one would be nice.

Were Apple to make black Macs, I hardly think they'd look like "UGLY A$$ PCs" as you so eloquently put it. A Mac looks nicer than a PC not because of the colour chosen, but because of the effort put into industrial design. PCs typically have a bunch of cheap plastic pieces glued together - then they get those lovely Intel and Windows stickers plastered all over them. Macs are one colour, with a very minimalist design.

I don't recall anyone saying anything about matte black Mac Pros and Displays (someone mentioned the iMac should be matte black rather than glossy - I personally think it should be glossy, but its a matter of personal preference) - the only thing close I saw was a mention of black anodized aluminum, which you've got to admit would look pretty cool (similar to many high end home theatre components).
 
I think they both look great

I don't think they could have made a safer 'prediction,' I could have been the insider for them.

But I really don't think I would like a black iMac. But I also said I wouldn't like a black ibook, but the Black macbook looks real nice. We'll see what happens.
 
I actually think all the peripherals look better in white like that black keyboard and mouse I have to admit is pretty ugly.
 
I think there's a reason why Apple will keep their displays as-is:

"Your Apple display matches the sculpted aluminum enclosures of the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. And for good reason. Apple designers carefully chose this hue to minimize interference with onscreen color, so you have a neutral reference point for viewing your work."

20" black, higher def better quality LCD, slightly altered form factor to accomodate a second HDD (for time machine)... would be nice

Now they say all Macs will be updated before the second half of the year? NO S**T? Really? Wow, what insiders they appear to be. WOW Apple hasn't updated a single Mac yet so predicting they may before June is really something I'm happy I read today. GIVE ME A BREAK!

I agree. The novelty of a red iMac would wear off in a matter of hours, and then you'd be stuck with an ugly (and potentially anger-inducing) computer for the next several years.
 
I wouldn't mind a black iMac, but I'd rather see a redesigned one. The current chassis was designed with the G5 in mind.

Wow, you have a lot of hate for your fellow non-Apple employees. I guess that's why you are NOT part of Apple's marketing team.

What's wrong with people speculating about different designs for Apple products? Am I an idiot if I like a particular color? How about if I say I'd like my next Mac to be that color?

I severely hope you don't work someplace where you have to talk to customers. Your attitude is the type of attitude that gives tech people a bad reputation.
 
I love my black Macbook. Ibought it the first week it's been out and still don't regret paying 150 Euros more just for the color. It's true the iMac was designed with the G5 in mind, but now they put Intel in there, iMacs are nice and quiet.

The only thing I would change for the iMac right now is removing that Jay Leno chin. I don't like the shape and all, but sometimes, I like having the screen just above the F-keys of the keyboard. 5 love the design if the G4 4 Mac. That thing was killer, many stores have them, so they can just swing i around and show the costumer what they have ordered.
