Hope beta won't break other stuff on my Mac, would love to start using it.

Apple just loves to tout their OS adoption rates so much, they give the upgrades out for free! Not complaining as I love free and Yosemite looks like a nice upgrade :apple:

Well to be fair Eddy Cue never said the best stuff was all coming at WWDC.

I know. but between Tim Cook's statement at the end of 2013, and Cue's statements now.

we're already 1/2 way throuhg 2014.... there's not a whole lot of time yet for the "best pipeline in 25 years".

you can't fault people for getting jaded.

"Google voice has done it for years"

Except Google Voice still lacks MMS support
Except Google Voice requires everyone to setup new emails/phone numbers etc. to work.
Except you have to be on Chrome and signed into your Gmail/voice account

Apple just requires that you have a Macbook and iPhone. The Mac just has to be on and that's it. It just works.

Apple doesn't invent things, no one is saying that. They just execute and refine previously poorly thought out existing technology.

Most people already have a google account. And if you are on chrome you are signed in. So it's not a stretch.

And most of the world doesn't have an iphone. A bigger hurdle to overcome.

They're bringing up the perecentage numbers of adoption. It looks good on a slide, but in real numbers, its a misleading statistic.

"only 14% of users adopted windows 8".

What they're not telling you is that 14% of windows 7 and earlier users upgrading to Win8 vastly outstrips the actual population of OSx users.

its just more Tim Cook FUD

I'm sorry what? They're two different things completely.

Probably not the best place, but OSX is different from iOS in that we can revert back whenever right? Ive made an install of Mavericks on my USB, can I revert back 2 years from now if I want? Or are there Apple certificates like in iOS?

I have no idea what that means. You mean install a previous version of OS X? Sure, that should be possible, even though you need to know what you are doing.

I have to laugh when these live blogs get snarky over Apple taking some shots at the competition. As if nobody else does it, or never takes shots at Apple.
