Hey, LandonDonavan, what u said about battery consumption is true. All this time on ios5 i had more than normal consumption, but now that i installed 1.0.2 fixed for ios 5, i have waaaay better battery life. especially when i have 3g activated.

Maybe something we are missing is around here. This could address all those ios updates Apple has been doing trying to fix battery life.
lol, mcbaron15 and keyoke, i think u guys unintentionally fixed ios5 haha.

EDIT: Furiousmod 2.0 didnt work for me, so i ran down back to 1.0.2

FuriousMod 2.0 works fine on my IPhone IOS 5.0.1 bb 4.10.01 and genuine Gevey Ultra

unoriginal gevey ultra

Hi guys,
I've read whole discussion but my gevey ultra (supposed to be original according to price but its not) still doesnt work, every time I try to install any of the adjusted furiousmods I got some mistakes...automatic mode is not working just the manual but cellular data(3G, edge) don't also...

I just want to ask you if you can tell me some ebay seller from who you have any working gevey ultra auto mode...I can be fake, but working:)

Hi all, I would ask how many of those problems had installed 2.00 V. deb furious official? cydia.furiousmod.com, before??
Oris the problem of BB..
Thanks..
Sorry my bad English

I can not install the one from cydia.furiousmod.com....
Guess I will stick with the cracked one!

----------

Well I got it from this repo:
http://www.myrepospace.com/profile/keyoke/150167/FuriousMod_200

It installed without any errors and seems to work just as well as the cracked 1.10....

Neither af the two versions enables the roaming automatic after a reboot :-(

I use version FuriousMod 1.0.1.
And at me roaming after reboot doesn't join.
I install Data Roaming SBSettings
And to include after reboot in SBSettings faster!

2.0 also sets the data roaming for me, just enable it in the furious mod app (try to play with the toggle a bit) and after reboot if you give it time it should enable (dont check right away after you get signal, seems to take some time after it enables it)

I have 2 IPHONES 4. They have the same base band Modem Firmware - 04.10.01. I jailbreak both the same way and install furiousmod 2.0. The first iPhone worked without any problems with the Gevey Ultra card (Unlocked and I have service) the second one says SEARCHING for about 30 seconds then NO SERVICE. It is not the Gevey SIM card because I have tried it in the first Iphone and it works and it is not the SIM card itself because I tried it in the first Iphone as wel. Could this be a problem with the iPhone itself?

They are both jailbroken on 5.0.1

Running the 2.0.0 FuriousMod and it works like a charm- enables Data Roaming as well.
Yesss fine with de original ultra applenberry..
For the people with ultra x3groove work with 1.0.1.
Thanks...keyoke..and.. mcbaron15

FuriousMod 2.0.0 Questions

First, many thanks to @Keyokee & @mcbaron15 & the many others on this tread. @Keyokee, your repo actually loads on my device as opposed to the official cydia.furiousmod.com repo, which always comes up with loading errors ("failed to fetch... bad URL", etc), leading to an empty repo.

Before I found @Keyokee's repo, I was using a hacked FuriousMod 1.x? for iOS 5 of unknown origin from mediafire (http://t.co/5zYz4cQv) (yes, sketchy I know, but I was desperate) installed via iFile, but even it never worked without a lot of fooling around (settings/phone/SIM application, sometimes 112/airplane mode, praying, sometimes just mysterious cyber-whims?). Battery life seemed to be quite good, though the unlock was unstable across reboots.

Now with FuriousMod 2.0.0 from your repo, all seems to be well, and it seems to hold after multiple reboots. And, my EDGE data works fine when Data Roaming is turned on. The SBSettings toggle add-on is great for this.

I have a couple of questions for the group, if you wouldn't mind sharing your experiences with FuriousMod 2.0.0 with a newbie:

--
1. 3G. I'm about to get a new 3G Vodafone SIM here in India. What have been people's experiences with 3G service with Gevey Ultra and furiousmod2.0.0?

2. battery consumption: @smashfreak13 mentioned earlier in the thread about improved battery life with furiousmod 1.x mods for iOS 5. Does anyone have thoughts about furiousmod2.0.0 and battery life? At first I was draining quickly, now it may have stabilized, I will do more accurate testing (6 hrs standby no data no wifi overnight, and report back).

3. Authentic Gevey Ultra vs. Fake? I got my Gevey Ultra from cutyoursim.com in Sept 2011. From the applenberry picture comparison, it looks to me like I have a genuine Ultra. The first two pictures on applenberry seem to be exactly alike except for the color/tone of the embossing material (am I missing something?). The third picture, with the dot between the middle horizontal line of the "E" and the "Y" in GEVEY (with the circle and arrow and "authentic" or something overwritten on it) is more clear, and my Gevey DOES have this dot. Attached are pictures of the packaging (red package front). Could anyone help clear this up for me?

Thanks so much for all of your time and guidance, Jeremy

Device info: iPhone 4, BB 04.10.01, JB iOS 5.0.1 via Redsn0w (from iOS 4.3.0), Gevey Ultra from cutyoursim.com (purchased Sept 2011, looks authentic as per applenberry diagrams, but ?), FuriousMod 2.0.0

(I'm no expert here, but thought I'd chime in with a few things to try because of the desperation in your post and the time in the US--the seasoned forum contributors will be more help, hopefully they will see this soon!)

Have you tried taking the SIM out and attempting to boot the phone with no SIM? if that doesn't work, try putting an ATT SIM in if you have one, without the Gevey. Also, you might try toggling the mute/vibrate button on and off a few times. And just to be clear, you are pressing and holding the top button for at least 3 sec, right?

The next thing I would try would be TinyUmbrella, see if it could pop you out of whatever boot problem you are experiencing. Go here to download it. Plug in your iPhone, launch TU, and see if "Exit Recovery" (if available) or "Fix Recovery" does anything.

I don't know how risky it is, but you might see if TU can put the phone into recovery mode by clicking on "enter recovery mode" first, and then try to exit it?

If TinyUmbrella doesn't do it, it is probably risky (I don't know), but you might try to kick it into DFU mode yourself manually and then have Tiny Umbrella/Redsn0w kick you out, I don't know if that would change anything. You can google DFU mode directions and get info on how to do that if you're not familair, but it might be risky in the state your phone is in, I don't know.

Then there's Redsn0w. Under the "Extras" tab (for Mac at least, I don't know about the Windows version) you could try putting it and getting it out of DFU mode, and just booting tethered. Again, proceed at your own risk. Find the latest Redsn0w here.

I'm sure experts on this forum will have other, better recommendations. Best to wait to hear from them if you can. Try taking the SIM out and a little TU, with no DFU first, and hope they chime in quickly.

After you get it booted, I would think you'd want to get to wifi, launch Cydia, and try uninstalling FuriousMod 2.0.0 and installing FuriousMod 1.x (or going with the manual 112 method until you get your important calls dealt with, so as not to risk another problem?). When you do this: uninstall FM2.0, restart, install FM1.x, restart.

Hope this helps~

I'm Shocked

I just read the last few posts in this thread tonight (been following for a few weeks) and installed FuriousMod 2.0 from http:/cydia.furiousmod.com.
The first two times I rebooted my phone I had no luck. The third time and every time since then it has been 100% working.
I am very pleased I don't have to use the manual unlock any more.
Thanks for the update.

p.s. I registered tonight just so I could post this because I feel it is very valuable information to the Jailbreaking/Unlocking community.
If you think I'm a troll/plant you can look me up under the same screen name on ModMyI.com and you will see I have been at this for awhile.

Thanks again for keeping this thread current. It was a huge help to me. A lot of members on ModMyI have been referring people over here that use Gevey sim unlock to check this thread.

I am running an iPhone 4 / custome 5.0.1 preserved Base band of 2.10.04 With a true Gevey Ultra purchased from AppleBerry

I have an at&t Iphone 4 (GSM) which had software version 4.3.4 and base band 04.10.01

Using the latest version of redsn0w (0.9.10b4) I upgraded it to 5.0.1 PRESERVING the base band and then I jailbroke it; of course, you all know that the latest version of redsn0w supports untethered boot.

In order to unlock it, I couldn’t use ultrasn0w since the base band it’s not supported so I bought a gevey ultra (from applenberry) and installed FuriousMod 2.0.0 and ALL is working now (there is no need for any deb file!!!)

I’m using the phone in the Orange Spain network without any problems (untethered boot and NO need to dial 112)

help

Hi,

I am stuck at no service, both the mod and the manual don't wok for me. If I press the accept button and leave I get the full t-mobile signal working, however it disappears with 20mints and NO SIM error comes up?

Can some1 help me plz? Many thanks :)

I have a genuine Applenberry Gevey Ultra. My iPhone is running iOS 5.01. The base band was preserved and the phone was jailbroken using Pwnage. The baseband is 04.10.01.

I used FuriousMod 2.0 on Cydia. I am on T-Mobile because I don't want to pay for data as I don't need it. I only use Wi-Fi.

My problem is the signal strength is very weak. It will show four bars. When I actually touch the phone app, the bars will quickly drop to one bar. Often times its will lose service all together. I have 3GS unlocked (using an old base band and Ultrasnow) also on T-Mobile that generally has five stars. Any ideas on a fix?

I bought my gevey ultra directly from applenberry and it's working for me (automatic mode).
- Iphone 4 (GSM)
- Version 5.0.1
- Base band 4.10.01
- FuriousMod 2.0.0

Exactly! I bought mine too from applenberry. It works fine and well. My iPhone's the same specs as above :) but with a Deff Cleave black aluminum bumper ...

Wanted to post my results as well.

iPhone 4, locked to ATT
Running iOS 5.0.1, preserved baseband 04.10
Genuine Gevey Ultra off Applenberry's website
Furiousmod 2.0 (off the furiousmod repo)
Working in automatic mode.
