Yeah, they don't know what they are talking about.

This article is complete BS. The Compass or Auto-Focus features have not been in ANY 3.0 beta to date. Plus these features require new hardware, new hardware not available in the 3G iPhone. Which he never mentions in the blog post.
Yeah but don't you see, he said the screenshots were already posted a month ago. The images could have been just saved to the iphone and then made to look as if it were from the new iphone. The compass images and such which are not in the 3.0 software like you said, doesn't prove anything regarding the usage of these new features bound to come in the new iphone. This means that the images could be fake.
However, I'm pretty sure even if this is fake, the new iphone will come out in wwdc and will resemble these features.

So, the new iPhone is a matte version on the left.
I hope not. Looks like a cheap knock-off... but then again all of Apple's designs have been steadily going down the drain over the last few years, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was legit... methinks the Apple designers spent way too much time on Macthemes.net looking at all the dull, flat and grey themes designed by 13 year olds.
ive been looking at the pictures all morning trying to decide if they are real of not, but remembering that the iphone has gps cordinate tagging i decided to check some of the cordinate tags for some of the pictures, heres wat i found
the one apparently taken with the new phone contained no geo-tag information
plugging the cordinates into google maps i got this
i think this is conformation enough the pictures were defintely taken in hong kong and were all taken at the same place
He said one can only take fuzzy snapshots of it, and not clear shots. 'Cuz it's still not officially released. So, in regards to the fuzzy photos below, I apologize!
Look @ this guys.![]()
I know right now we are all talking about the what if's...but the thing that keeps bothering me is everyone is missing the point of a digital compass.
It's not for hiking, although, i am sure you could use it for that.
It is for turn by turn directions, but that's not even half of it...
Augmented reality folks. Live image maps with live graphics over layed.
You know that yellow line that magically appears in football games? Augmented reality.
With a digital compass installed, you will be able to point your iphone's camera at a building, see the building on the screen as well as digital information over layed on the actual image (such as what the buildings name is, address, phone number, the different businesses in the building, etc.)
Turn by turn crappy directions will be outdated. Live real world images with graphics over layed and instant information of any location you point your camera at will be the next wave of cool.
Hiking? Turn by turn? That's yesterday. Welcome to augmented reality capabilities.
Sweet can't wait good bye verizon!
This is all well and good, but the current iPhone obviously takes larger photos(left) than the upcoming one(right).
Whether to upgrade will be quite a debate.
Somebody at Apple is getting fired on Monday.
It shouldn't be too difficult for Apple to figure out which employee took a prototype iphone to China.
I don't think it looks cheap. I think the glossy looks cheaper. It looks like a toy. The matte looks like an adult smartphone.
This article is such BS. He's ONLY allowed to take fuzzy snap shots? HAHAHA. He takes the fuzzy snap shots so no one will know its the old 3G. Since when is "fuzzy snapshots only" in the NDA's?
Sorry to burst your bubbles, but this is just a guy trying to get hits on his site.
so the mystery behind why the photos are fuzzy has been reviled
I wonder if this mysterious guy walks around in dark glasses and a trench coat. Perhaps he goes by a secret code name.
