The difference is this though iOS actually has a true cloud based solution. Android does not so where would you upload your movies to?

Like i said there is always an excuse typical fandroid to bash apple for example of not having SD cards slots on the iPad. But yet a high percentage of android tablets were released lacking the same thing but that was acceptable.

Here's a question to your question: where on iCloud are you uploading movies to?

As for the bashing...you sound like you need a shoulder to cry on. Did the big bad fandroids not play fair?:(

----------

It was never a defeat in the first place... Only Fandroids "thought" it was... Biggggggg difference buddy...

For me the memory card slot on the Android was useless as I couldn't install any apps on it... I hardly carry 2-3 GB of music and not many pics or movies... I got used to apps and keep a lot of games for my nephew... So when I switched to HTC I was quite shocked because I didn't know that this was a problem... And eventually came back to the iPhone... :)

Also the more the memory card is loaded the slower the phone gets... This I have noticed since the 2003 Nokia days... At the beginning when there wan't much data the phones worked like a breeze... Then slowly as data got added and the memory card started filling up the phone eventually slowed down...

Sorry, I'm confused, you found out that the lack of expandable memory was a problem on Android, so you came back to the iPhone...where...they...have...no...expandable...memory...uh...

Android doesn't have a cloud based solution? You do realize that google has been doing things in the cloud for the last 2 years right? To address the inaccurate information you just spewed, videos, pictures, and music can reside in the cloud...so yeah you're off on that one. At least if you're going to try to knock something, try to know what you're talking about. As for people knocking devices in the past that didn't have expandable storage. Before cloud storage became more commonplace, people were relying completely on local storage, so not having any other options besides local storage was a bit of a knock (I didn't think a huge knock).

There is a high percentage of something in your post. A high percentage of fail.

Thats the problem with people on forums... They are in such a hurry to reply they fail to read and understand correctly... Please read again, CAREFULLY, and then reply...

As you wish:

Useless. Ignored this part.

So far, it seems you're saying that you don't need much storage on a phone.

So when I switched to HTC I was quite shocked because I didn't know that this was a problem... And eventually came back to the iPhone... :)

Here's where you lost me. If you don't need much storage on a phone, why was not having expandable memory a problem? And if it was a problem, why go back to a phone that doesn't have expandable storage?

Also the more the memory card is loaded the slower the phone gets... This I have noticed since the 2003 Nokia days... At the beginning when there wan't much data the phones worked like a breeze... Then slowly as data got added and the memory card started filling up the phone eventually slowed down...

Thanks for the historical insight...that revelation must have been extraordinary for you, but...yea...kinda common sense for most.

Edit: Am I misinterpreting your use of the word "wan't"? Is that where I'm going wrong?

Id still like to have a card slot. I can put apps on it on my Vibrant but if the nexus comes with a 32 GB phone like ive read it will(who knows how true it is), then thats enough for me.

From all of the video demos I've seen, the first time you run ICS, all the previous apps you've purchased automatically sync to your device. So no need to manually transfer over your apps from the Vibrant to the Nexus.

Not sure how it works if you want to transfer apps the other way yet though.

I'm still awaiting JediZenMaster's response. He got awfully quiet after I pointed out his spewing of misinformation...suddenly he has nothing more to say... interesting.

Yes i know you can automatically transfer apps from tour google account, but that isnt what i meant.

The SD card is important for doing root, installing ROMS, themes, etc.

Is it possible to do all this with just the internal memory? I have been trying to find the answer without luck.

It's no different than doing it on the nexus S. It too has only internal storage. It has no bearing on root, roms, themes, etc.. It still works the same way.

Having the phone rooted would be cool but ICS working as great as it shows, you really have no reason to install a custom ROM. My main reason to install a custom ROM on my Vibrant was for speed purposes.

Yeah, I know. My only interest on ROMS would be to change the look of the phone from time to time, maybe even to add some new features. ICS looks really good on its own. Ill wait to see the new quad core devices on February to see if I definitely try Android or stick with iOS.

Christ quad core? On a phone really? Is it needed?

No less than dual core is needed. :D

I might switch back to Android if there was good solutions for syncing my music and photos with my Mac. But there isn't. It's sad.

Def agree about the syncing. For a while, I stopped carrying music on my Android phone simply because I didn't like Doubletwist liek itunes.

However, new cloud-based solutions are vastly improved.

For pics/videos, I believe Google Plus now has an automatic upload feature. Picasa may do it too, I am not sure.

The new Google music is pretty awesome. Whatever I add to my itunes on my computer is automatically pushed over the cloud to my phone with no wires. It's still rough in terms of options, but it works.

Give Android a couple of years and I am sure they will have better solutions than itunes. Right now though, I def agree itunes is simpler and easier.

How hard is it to plug the phone into your computer and drag whatever file you want on to the phone??

Hey Im very happy with my single core A4 chip of the iPhone 4 :D:D:D However, if I'm gonna buy a new phone then better to spend the money on the biggest upgrade possible. Its better to go from a single core to quad core than single core to double core, right? Thats what Im talking about.

But if you delete a song on iTunes, it doesn't delete itself off of Google Music. Correct? :/ Google has a ways to go, sadly.

Android phones have always been loners. There hasn't even been a way to sync your bookmarks until ICS. There were some third party workarounds, but who wants that? And they don't even work 100%

I was also hoping that JediZen was going to pop back into the thread to clarify some of his/her inaccuracies but alas, it seems it isn't to be.

I completely understand that this is an Apple centric forum but to come here and read some of the nonsense posted I'd have thought that some people would have realised that there are members who know what they're talking about when it comes to other platforms.

The only positive thing to come of it is that it easily lets you weed out those with zero credibility.
