The unlocked Note 3 sold in the Americas and Europe are limited to their particular region. This means that the Note 3 may only work with SIM cards in the respective regions.

Well, looks like folks who bought the Note 3 unlocked in Europe and the Americas (inclusive of North America, Central America, South America) will be required to pay roaming charges if they travel outside of Europe or North America.

So close. And yet so far away.

The Note 3 was the top runner for me for a new phone this fall. But I refuse to buy on contract and I'm not paying full price for a locked phone.

Guess I'm waiting for the Nexus 5 and HTC One max now.

i think a flip/wallet case makes it pretty much impossible for one-hand use...
Question: with a flip case on, how do you answer the phone in the car? I don't use my phone in the car for anything that requires typing, but I do need to be able to answer the phone if it rings. Anyone??

On my S4, with the S-view flip cover on , whenever a call comes in, a slider appears in the S-view window to either accept or decline the call.

I don't have to open the cover to accept calls or to talk on the phone.

This is crazy! If they don't rectify this, count me out as a customer.

Ahh, I see. Thanks.

Come to think of it, it's not just when I'm in the car that this would matter. There are LOTS of times I need to grab my phone out of my pocket and quickly answer it.

Thats good to hear but most every Android phone has zero lag out of the box. The real test will be in 2-3 months time. Thats when most start to slow down and exhibit lag.

I hope 4.3 fixes this, thats been one of my biggest pet peeves about android. Can't wait to get mine next week.

I did start to experience some lag down the road on my S3 but just cleaned it up pics and other stuff wise.

It acted fine after that. The first thing I usually do is disable all the bloat apps and uninstall what I can.

The Note 3 seems like a fantastic device, but I feel like there's zero real hype or excitement for this device outside some techie diehards sadly. Hopefully that changes when it's released next week.

There never is much hype for phones not named the iPhone outside of forums like this. The S4 was as hyped as I have ever seen any Android phone at launch and I was still able to walk into a local Verizon corporate store and buy one at 3pm with no lines on launch day and they still had plenty left. They had 9 people in line the morning it launched. This is the same store that just had about 170 in line for the 5s last week. Its hard to get all hyped up for Android phones because there will just be another, better one released a month later.

First charge done

Was out a lot too...plus 2 hours of music.

Which iPhone? I get around 6hrs use on my 5s and the battery is a third of the size as the one in the Note 3. Granted its a smaller display and not pushing as many pixels, but the 5s has very good battery life.

The iPhone 4. Is that 6hrs of screen time on the 5s?

Remember that after 6hrs you can slap in another battery on the note 3 and be right back to 100%

Usage times are different don't forget from Samsung to Apple..

Wow! That is great.

Have you loaded up all your apps?

Yeah pretty much

I got 3 hours screen time when I opened it up the day before too when it was on 50 percent

Recontracted with Singtel and picked up a black 32GB Note 3 just now. Couldn't wait any longer lol.. I have weak will power :D

Can't wait to reach home, charge the beast and start playing with it! Probably I will start using it as my main phone tomorrow onwards. My S3 will do fine for one more day :p

If you guys have any questions, post away and I will try to answer them tomorrow. Will also post some outdoor camera samples tomorrow.. Looks like it's going to rain here today and I don't want to get my new phone wet just yet.

Edit : I also need to hunt for a 32GB class 10 MicroSD card, a Spigen SP and a cheapass protective case tomorrow. Haven't bought any accessories yet.

You don't know how much this is hurting me! :D

I don't get paid till Monday, the problem is starting monday I'm away on a 1 week training course, all the Stores in the nearby where I'll be close at 4:30pm and I don't finish each day till 5pm :(

If I get one I hope it's not too long before Cyanogenmod graces it, I cannot stand Touchwiz. But all seems to be quiet on the Western Front in regards to whether it'll be supported. It'd be the international one seeing as I'm in the UK, so that'd be the Snapdragon 800 correct?
