You don't know how much this is hurting me! :D

I don't get paid till Monday, the problem is starting monday I'm away on a 1 week training course, all the Stores in the nearby where I'll be close at 4:30pm and I don't finish each day till 5pm :(

If I get one I hope it's not too long before Cyanogenmod graces it, I cannot stand Touchwiz. But all seems to be quiet on the Western Front in regards to whether it'll be supported. It'd be the international one seeing as I'm in the UK, so that'd be the Snapdragon 800 correct?

Yeah in the UK we have model 9005 which has snap dragon 800.

6 hours usage. I would assume thats screen time correct? Only maybe 15 minutes were calls. The rest was games, messages, emails, web browsing and some navigation.

that's not bad, though the iphone is out because i'm not a fan of the ios7 changes. really, its between the note 3 and the nexus 5, but i need a phone that will survive a day of heavy usage, particularly when i travel and have to use google maps a lot. the moto x seems good, but the screen's too small.

I'm amazed how much better battery life is on this note 3 than s4 and that wasn't bad.

Usage is not screen on time, it's anytime the phone is not a sleep. So if you were listening to music with the screen off it would count towards usage.

ive never rooted or ROMd or whatever it is the cool kids call it now a days but considering it for the Note as my S3 seemed to slow down as it got older.

Anyone doing that for the Note 3 and if so wont you lose all the s pen stuff and features that come with the Note 3?

Sorry, super newb when it comes to that stuff.

I am keeping my GN3 stock just as I did my GS3 (which was fast and smooth on stock with the bloatware disabled).

The GN3 is very fast; I don't think you'll ever need to consider third party ROMs.
I am currently setting up my device. I have disabled/uninstalled all the apps (mainly Samsung and some third party carrier crap) I don't want, and I have turned off all the S-features that I don't use. There is ZERO lag so I doubt I will need to install any custom ROM ever.

Touchwiz doesn't bother me at all, and TBH, I have grown used to many of the useful TW features over the past 3 years (GS1 and GS3). Touchwiz is a bit ..ahem..'colorful' :p and over the top in some places, but it is also easy to use..icons and settings are distinct and easily identifiable. I am not a fan of the overly dumbed-down, flat design (that has infested Gmail, G-maps etc recently) which has very poor discoverability.

I have had my GN3 for a few hours now, and I am already addicted to the awesome screen. I find my GS3's screen to be tiny in comparison :p:D

great to hear! i may just disable all that i can and uninstall what i can as well.

thanks for the info

anyone tried putting nova launcher on this yet? i want to keep the spen features, but i don't want that lame UI.

also, has anyone tried the battery guru app with a snapdragon 800 processor? might make the battery even better. i know it helped the nexus 4.

Haven't tried it yet..how does it help battery life?

Hopefully someone else can post sample pics from the camera, no luck with the op

The more I see hands-on vids of the thing, the more I'm disappointed that I pre-ordered (and pre-paid) for one of these. I'm hoping things will improve once Touchwiz is replaced, although I'm concerned that it could be the S-pen interface that is really making it perform so poorly.

I wasn't listening to music though. Everything I was doing, with the exception of 15 minutes of phone calls, I had the screen on. Games, web browsing, texts, emails and navigation. I got 6hrs and 4mins of usage. Had 2% left when it went on the charger.

Perform poorly? In what way?

Tasted great.

Picture was done at night with no flash also.

Never have been impressed with Samsung cameras. This one looks no better.

Reviews of the N3 claim Samsung really blew here, especially for indoor and low light shots:

"Low-light Performance and Flash
Where the Note 3 really disappoints is its low-light performance. For some reason, Samsung has cut the dedicated Night mode out of the Note 3. Instead, it relies simply on the Auto mode for low-light shots.

And it’s simply not up to it. In poor lighting, photo performance is terrible. Where rivals tend to produce grainy but discerable photos of our standard low-light scene, the Note 3 shot is basically pitch black. Objects only become discernible when you’ve processed the images significantly - and they still look awful.

Fingers-crossed Samsung will sort this out by reinstating Night mode in an update. At present, the Note 3 falls way behind the competition."

It's fine for my personal needs that's for sure

Same thing with my HTC One. The 5S is a better shooter, but since most of my photos are in low light and I really don't live in remotely as beautiful a place as MacRumorUser (outdoor landscapes where I live are not worth shooting for the most part) I am happy enough.

Normally I don't have much time for CNET (barring their TV reviews which while inferior to the UK sites are the best in North America) but CNET Asia has some comparison photos:
