Galaxy Note 3

I think I'm going to take the plunge and get one, fingers crossed Cyanogenmod hits it eventually, as the British Note 3 is the snapdragon version I hear its supposed to be more CM friendly than the Exynos variant.

I just saw a nice comparison of S4 and 5s cameras and was impressed by both. It seemed clear that the S4 had a better front facing camera and the rear facing cameras seemed about equal. The 5s took better photos in low light because of the dual led flash and the S4 seemed to be equal or better in other categories.

To be honest I still use them both..as I like using the ipad for YouTube and slot of sites I use..love the note 3 size but I don't think I would use others less...I able using my phone a lot now though,even more than my S4
 
Let's not forget that reviews are written by individuals. Some with their web sites agenda to satisfy, others not. Either way it's about writing something that makes their review stand out. Therefore even if all aspects of any phone they review were perfect, they've got to find something to scrutinize. The only exception is how fashionable it is to write glowing reviews of Apple products.

Therefore I take reviews with a grain of salt. Using them to cull out what couldn't possibly meet my needs, yet remaining open to the others. I then buy the product & evaluate it during the window of exchange time allowed. Nothing matters to me other than how the phone satisfies my criterion.

No, I was taking photos with both the S4 and 5s. I was looking at the difference right in front of me.

My friend finally made me stop taking pics with her S4 and had me take them all on my 5s and then text them to her because they were coming out that much better

That is complete bs

Sure. First two are from the S4, last two are from the 5s. S4 was shot on full quality and I just resized them to post here. The S4 was shot in portrait because thats how she wanted me to shoot them with her phone. Two things to look at are the sky and the colors of the trees. Both are blown out on the S4 but look nice and rich on the 5s. The color of the water was more accurate on the 5s as well. The S4 has a hazy look to its pics which always annoyed me when I had the phone. The 5s images are just a lot more sharp, crisp and colorful.

We were looking at them both in front of us and she hated how they were coming out on her S4, so she had me stop taking pics with it and just take them all on my 5s. Look at the pics above.

No offense, but none of those pics look as nice as MRU's pics posted earlier. That being said, if you think there is an overwhelming difference between the S4 and 5S cameras, then it's your opinion. The problem comes when people act like it's the single most important thing in their choice of smartphone but yet don't get the phone with one of the best camera like the Pureview on Nokia. Bottom line: The camera on the S4 has been very highly regarded as will the Note 3. Anyone that tries to say they can't stand the picture quality and ignore every other AMAZING feature of the Note 3 is just hating.

Oh I agree for sure. I wasnt claiming they were as nice as his. I was pointing out that compared side by side, its not even close as to which camera is better. Its just a shame Samsung cant seem to make a good camera for otherwise very good phones.

ya gotta at least take the same picture from the same angle, man. don't point yr camera towards the sun.

The 2nd pic from the S4 and the 1st pic from the 5s are facing the same direction, neither were facing the sun. It was noon, sun was overhead anyways. The 5s pic is just from a higher angle. Not sure what you are talking about.
 
Just took this picture at work as I was about to eat my lunch.

Set to 13mp with rich tone HDR and auto light and pretty much auto everything.took this about 3 inches away from the food and they don't look anything like your pictures.

Two completely different subjects, scenes and lighting. Not even comparable. Nice pic though :)

Heavens, how can anyone ever put up with those horrible cameras in those Samsung phones. Horrible, just horrible. /s

Again your opinion, and a ridiculous one indeed. I think that Sums up why people should never go by online reviews, and are better off judging for themselves.

Seriously. Just look at the shadows in the S4 photos. They're coming towards the camera. Now look at the shadows in the 5s photos. Shadows are facing away from the camera.

And there goes your credibility. Shadows say otherwise. Who do you think your fooling? More importantly , why are you so bent on making the S4 camera look bad.
 
In stock at local AT&T Store

So on saturday I was at a mall in the Pittsburgh area and dropped by the AT&T store there. To my surprise they had a Note 3 out on display, and talking to one of the employees they also said they had some in stock that they would be able to sell. (this is 9-28-13, so a week in advanced if I'm not mistaken).

Anyways, I am not a direct AT&T customer (I use straighttalk currently) but thought that was pretty cool. I am really wanting to switch to the GN3 from my iPhone 5, though I will have to pay full price so I didn't get the phone or anything then.

Just an FYI

What shadows? If you mean the big one in the S4 pic, thats the top of the waterfall, that isnt in my shot with the5 s as I am higher up and more to the left. The pics were taken 3 minute part. How about I post the meta data from both pics? This is getting a bit off topic. Keep thinking Samsung phones are the best things ever invented and they have no faults. Even when faced with glaring proof. Not just from me, but just about every reviewer not a huge Android fanboy will admit the 5s has a superior camera. Im out.
