They should have announced the Note 3 GE instead of the Z Ultra :rolleyes:

It's nice to have a phablet with stock android though.

Let's see how it compares to the Note 3 in video comparisons.

But because the Note's main feature is the S-Pen and S-App's that accompany it - stock android just wouldn't be a right fit.

Not until those Apps are available in the marketplace, and not until google adds handwriting recognition into its own OS and Keyboard.

I guess time will tell. I tend to be careful with my phone so hopefully it'll be ok.

I got mine from the official reseller on ebay. Turned up next day and cost £20. Fits like a glove.

Yep. The correct way would be to compare the signal strength in dBm.

Settings - > More - > About device - > Status->Signal Strength

Thanks for this info.
I do have a question.
What is a good range of numbers?
Is -99 dBm 6 asu better than -91dBm 11 asu ? or vice versa?

My Spigen Neo Hybrid arrived today. Quite like it, but it does make an already big phone even bigger!

It's a really nice case. And you're right, the issue is that it does in fact add a lot of bulk. I actually go without a case with the Note 3 because it's pretty rugged and durable as it is already (knock on wood)

we don't have this "auto +x" option in the AT&T version...

Sorry to butt into this thread - but does your Note UI actually look like that, with a hand-written font, etc? Is theming/customisation part of Android? I have no idea, I have never used it.

Because that's cool... and I'm wanting to ditch my iPhone for a Note 3. Can you post some more screenshots?

You can change the font in the settings menu. So yeah you can change the whole ui font, though I tend to keep mine as normal.

It's either the Google Experience Launcher or the very latest Nova Launcher which has KitKat styling options.

Yep Nova Launcher beta, but I think it recently got updated in the Play Store so should be the same version as that. Using the standard Kit Kat theme it ships with.

Wallpaper is the live "wave" one on the Play Store.

Thats my handwriting, used the "Insta Font Maker" app to make the custom TTF font, then "iFont" to set it. I can actually use the font file in windows.

Having an odd issue with Hangouts.

Whenever I try and create a new hangout for a contact I have an existing sms with, it searches, finds and then closes without creating the IM/hangout. The end result is Hangouts running in the background and killing my battery with the only fix being an unsinstall/reinstall.

Any idea what is going on? I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

Ok, I'm having this weird problem where samsung voice is being used instead of Google in navigation. Anyway to fix that?

OK, not sure if the problem was addressed in the pages after I posted this other than the xda suggestion, but I was finally able to fix this problem.

For anyone else that is bothered by the Samsung voice, go to the playstore and search for "Google text to speech". It should be the first app to pop up, install it, then go to settings>device>accessibility>text-to-speech options and select "Google text to speech engine" as your default and say goodbye to the Samsung lady.
