No. But it looks like you accidently clicked on an article you weren't interested in then accidently commented and hit post reply. You have to be more careful to avoid accidents like this.

Commenting to complain was no accident. If MacRumors editors want to post stories about things that have nothing to do with Apple they shouldn't put it on the front page. They should make a new tab, call it Samsung Blog, and put all the Samsung stories they want there.

Some reviews seem more impressed than others by the looks of it

I've said before that even as an Apple fan you have to give credit to Samsung on the design of the S8, it looks great. It's just the software they fail on.

And the position of the finger print reader, i don't know why they did that!

from all reports purely due to not having enough time to put it under the display. chances are that changes with the note 8. Just hope apple manage to do it

I hope Apple does it as well, I think the iPhone 8 with less bezels and the OLED screen will be great.

Here here or else it means this entire forum overrun by phone reviews for LG, Sony etc...

as usual Samsung races to the finish line with a rushed product to claim they are FIRST with the full screen lol. There is no technological advancements here. Apple could have done this years ago. It leaves the door wide open yet again due to Samsung's lack of effort. Apple will embed the scanner within the glass screen for seamless interaction and will make a killing.

it's easy because apple has used the same exact phone for 3 years in a row I guess.

all that time and still looks the same

sad really if you actually think about it

Until September when the design changes with the iPhone 8. Also does it really matter the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are great smartphones.

I don't. I just refer to the fact that ipod/iphones have met similar fates to the note 7 over the years. Manufacturing issues happen, though in the note 7 case, testing was cut, which Apple has never done, unless you consider the iphone 4 and the Antenna issue to be a case, though I suspect in that case Apple knew of the issue hence they had an accessory to address it, and choose to go to market with it, and could an argue it was not a major problem, though turned into a media circus
Apple has an estimated 1billion devices out there. Of course there will be all sorts of stuff reported. Cars have been catching on fires for years and will continue to do so. No new news there. What makes news is a massive defect like the pinto.

but what about the 7s? 4 phones that look exactly the same! the iPhone 8 is a limited run and 90% of the people won't get it for at least 2-3 months after release.

7s will likely look the same, it makes sense for the 7s to be the cheaper model for those who can't afford the pricing of the 8. Time will tell every year there are story's of low production. I don't mind waiting a month for the 8 anyway.

it's funny how biased you are.if Samsung put out the same phone 4 years in a row you would be all over them for it.the sad part is you will get a 7s and apple knows it!

apple is a brilliant business.they have there buyers locked down and milk the living crap off them .do you honestly think the richest company in the world can't build enough iPhone 8s? they are purposely doing it to sell the higher profit margin 7s design.

why even build a 7s and iPhone 8? they should of just went straight to the new design but the board cares about 1 thing...profit and they know they can get another year out of that old 6 design.

It's not the same phone and throwing the word "bias" around.... The 6 is different from the 6s, which is different from the 7. I have all three models. "Same" is an opinion.

Actually i will get the iPhone 8 not the 7s. If you had read previous post's I've made i have said Samsung have done great in the last couple of years design wise, their phones do look good, it's just TouchWiz that's not good. The fact that i prefer Apple and IOS over Android and Samsung TouchWiz doesn't stop me from saying that i like ideas from other companies.

You said the same phone 4 years in a row, that's wrong really because yea the design is the same but not everything is about how phones look.

You just said it yourself! the design is the same! well guess what? every other cell phone OEM has made design changes along side internal hardware changes.

have you used TouchWiz lately? it's surpassed stock Android in many reviews and is miles away from what people on here keep regurgitating.

And the 8 will have design changes so I don't see what your getting at. Yes they kept the same design last year for the 7, but that doesn't make it any less of a great phone.
TouchWiz isn't a great OS that has been known for a while, bloatware and even recent reviews have said that after a while the phone becomes slowed down by it. Yes you can route it if you need too. My point tho is that design isn't everything, maybe it is for you and that's why we won't agree.

and Samsung's phones have all been radically different right??? They are the same also and thats because they can't do it on their own as they've shown time and time again. Come one now. Look at every phone for the past 3 years. They are all the same form factor. They all look like iPhones

Maybe you're doing it wrong. :apple:

my 6s has been flawless with the touch ID since day one. when was the last time you re-scanned your finger print? Prob since you unboxed your phone. You prob have a crappy scan of your fingers. I'd redo them

This is a very good point! I don't know what people are expecting, some sort of round phone? or something.

While the phone is beautiful I agree with the whole rear finger print scanner location. The rear is fine, but the location near the camera is not an ideal location. But that seems to be the only flaw I've found with the phone. Apple is really going to need some exceptional gimmick to beat the S8.
It runs android...thats enough for most of us to not want it.
include the the ads and viruses my friends are getting with android..that seals the deal for me.

Actually they've never been the first with anything. But they've always been first with the best implementation.
what???? app store not run by the telcos, multi touch display on a cell phone..... I don t know about absolute first but it was pretty early now seems like they are last to the game on most features

Remember this is the same company that has a protruding camera bump now just cuz, that completely goes against ANY clean design language. lol.
Really—"just cuz"? Not that optical physics has anything at all to do with it? They could make it thicker, but then that goes against their corporate vision that Phil Schiller talked about on Gruber's show after WWDC not too long ago. He basically said they keep making things thinner because it pushes them to do more with less and drives the technology forward. Furthermore, when they moved to a larger display size they couldn't easily keep the phone the same thickness or it would become unwieldy compared to competing phones. A bigger battery is always welcome, but it also makes the device a lot heavier. Apple is very particular about the feel of their devices, and they don't want something that people carry around on their person all day to feel too heavy or clunky vs. the competition. The thin and light part of Apple's design is something that helps differentiate their designs in an age of all glass round rectangles. Don't feel bad, most people don't realize this.

He does have a point though.

not really...all these phones exist because of apple. LG G6? whats that lol. Galaxy S8 couldn't figure out how to put the scanner under the glass so they faked it and put it on the back lol. Apple is the trend setter and there is really no debate about it. the market shifts after apple releases their products that is just fact. All the S8 owners will be walking around putting their fingers on the camera lens and wondering why it doesn't work lol.

So much so that even Samsung has acknowledged it by putting a pop up message that tells people to clean the camera lens. Now if Apple manages to put Touch ID under the display that will be great.
