I think the hardest part of going to this phone is going to be getting used to keeping my phone in my right pocket so I can easily get to the fingerprint scanner. I've been carrying my mobile in my left pocket since it was a flip phone.
Totally forgot about the fingerprint scanner. How is that thing on Folds?

Not feeling the Fold, much prefer the Flip. I still would like the outer screen on the Fold to be wider, which would result in a little wider inner screen(s) too. Best Buy I went to only has dummy models out which is very annoying, so I didn't get a fair demo of anything. I'm amazed at the thinness of the Fold 7 it is incredible. I can't really see myself taking full advantage of all of its features, and felt that each screen (the internal screen, when using two apps at once) is too narrow. This is where it really would've been nice to use a live model of the phone. The folding mechanism on each phone feels really solid.

So as of now I'm planning on ordering the Flip 7, if anything.

I hear ya. The Flip

I hear ya. While both the Flip 7 and Fold 7 have the same 21:9 aspect ratio on their cover screens, the Flip is a larger 6.9" screen. So yes, two side-by-side apps on the Fold 7's inner screen will still be about 100 pixels narrower compared to the app full-screen on the Flip 7.

Good point. I also need to go to Best Buy and play with it to see the ergonomics. I have short stubby fingers and might not be able to manage a reach-around with my left hand (insert your own crude joke here).

The left index reach-around is easy on my Fold 5 but I'm also a bit worried and the extra girth of the Fold 7. Small price to pay for the extra front screen real estate. I think I'll use face unlock.

Ordered a silver gray Galaxy Fold 7
Welcome to the squad!

Hi All,

I'm thinking about moving from the 16 Pro Max to the Fold 7. I'm looking for feedback.

1. I'm on the 1up program. The trade-in value from Samsung is close to what I have left on payments. But if I don't like the Fold 7, I don't want to lose out on my 16PM. Does Samsung give you 30 days to send in the phone plus return period?
2. What discounts are out there that I can take advantage of?
3. I have an AW Ultra. I'd have to go with with a Samsung Ultra or Garmin. I've read that Samsung Ultra and AWU are somewhat similar. What is the opinion of this group?
4. Airpods—I assume these work just as well on Samsung phones.
5. Case—What are the better cases for this? I'd get the phone in blue.
6. If the iPhone fold is impressive next year, assuming it comes out, what is the resale hit after 1-year?
7. No S pen, kind of a crap move. I haven't used it, so I can't say I'd miss it. Seems like the group here is unhappy about it.
8. What else do I need to know?

Thanks for the help.

FWIW I've slipped between my 16PM and ZF6 a few times (alongside my AWU2 and Galaxy Watch Ultra)

Both superb set ups and if you have a hand in both iOS and Android, easy to get on with / manage etc

The SGWU is a superb watch, it's not as well built / premium as the AWU2 but it's still really nicely made and feels great. Very easy to use and set up, but it's level of apps aren't as good as Apple, but still good, if that makes sense?

Both phones are excellent also and I never had any issues with the ZF6 - for me it takes great pictures, feels great in the hands and has superb functionality. And even with shovel like hands I had no issues with the front screen for the likes of messages etc (I use SwiftKey so being able to customise and expand then keyboard etc really helps); and that inner screen is just superb 👌🏼

Re S Pen, never used it. Never did on my previous Notes so never missed it.

Cases - I always ran rugged cases with spine protection, so stuck with Spigen Slim Armor. But their Aramod case is really good too and it looks like they're making all their ZF7 cases Magsafe too which is superb, as if fit the Spigen Magsafe adapters to the cases otherwise

Re earphones - they're Bluetooth so won't be any issues there I don't think. I use Earfun pods personally

Hope that helps

Being someone who doesn't care about apps on the watch, I actually prefer the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I know some people prefer Apple because the have more apps, but I don't really care about that. Just want notifications so I can see if I need to pull my phone out or not.

Agree; I really like the GWU and I miss mine TBH (had to send my Z Fold 6 back with my MBA the other week after taking VR)...

I'm really tempted with selling my 16PM and AWU2 and going for the Z Fold 7 and bleu GWU - but going to leave it a good few weeks until I've received my full payout and also had an opportunity for my little business I've set up in the interim to gain some traction

No issue with fingerprint scanner on mine (Fold 6). It’s reliable and fast.

For the most part, I do use my Galaxy Watch Ultra for notifications… but it does more for me as well. Sleep and fitness tracking along with remote playback.

I do wish Apple will add their Music app since that’s where my playlist and library is at… have the option to use YT Music since I’m a subscriber through YT Premium, but don’t really care to use it.

FWIW I never thought I could leave Apple Music, but now that I've been totally in on YouTube Music for a few months, I don't think I could leave it.

This year the credit was only for a few recommended items none of which you could use on a case or protector. Instead they were pushing discounts on minimal stuff smh

$50.00 instant Samsung credit available to purchase eligible products shown under Recommended. Will be applied in cart.

I was able to get the transparent clear grip case which was like $37. But any other case was above $50.

I would have have went for the Silicone Grip case and paid the $7 difference, but they have every color except the Shadow Blue. ☹️

They actually just changed it to use the $50 credit towards other stuff.

No way really??? Sweet I'm going to need a case.
One of the members on the other forum mentioned it and I just tried to check to see if I bought the phone on their website if it would credit towards the case. I'm keeping my order through Best buy so I'm not going to use the credit.

I prefer Apple Music UI over YT Music... especially for tablet usage. I like how Apple Music takes advantage over the screen real estate... and YT Music to this date haven't adopted SplitView/SlideOver (no longer available now) to the iPad.

YT Music has treated the tablet experience similar to using a big phone... and I refuse to use it because of that.

Being a Fold user soon, that will be an issue for sure.

I went to Best Buy and they have a real Fold Z. The form factor is so impressive. It makes my Fold 5 feel like a brick. The cover screen is actually usable now and the inner screen is amazing.
I snapped a picture next to the S25 Ultra to compare the thickness as best as I could with the cords attached.
