I'm likely going to wait for the tri-fold... I want to see how that looks and the features for it. I normally don't upgrade annually anyways... I would have been skipping the Fold 7 regardless.

But that tri-fold... definitely interested in it.
would you import? as sounds like china/korea release only.

curious on it's price.

If the fold 7 is the SE while being lighter and having maybe anti reflective display I think it will be worth buying. Software it was already the king but if they get these hardware features then I will likely buy it.

Only downside will be battery size
Battery size supposedly the same/unchanged but more efficient Elite chip, so should be ok :)

No, I wouldn't import it. Even if Samsung do a test run... releasing it only in China/Korea, the following year they likely release it in the US.

Similar to what they did with the 6 SE... I can see them doing that for the tri-fold. I don't mind waiting for it... my Fold 6 is not slowing down anytime soon and if I come across any concerns Care+ can help get it resolved.

Thats my main issue. for any foldable i would need a care plan. certainly for a tri fold which is going to be more of a worry for durability.

Now that I'm fully immersed in the Samsung ecosystem, I'd really be tempted by the Fold 7 if it has the same camera system as the S25 Ultra. But these cameras are too good to give up.

I've been using a Z Fold 6 for about a month now. It's a fantastic device. I tried to pick up my ipad mini today, and immediately put it back. I need to sell off all my ipads at this point. I'll go back to Apple when they release a foldable. I'll also trade this 6 in for the 7 when it comes out in a few months.

Who says its not silicone carbon this year given the speculated thinness 4.5mm ish have they not lost the volume for previous gen batteries if they wish to maintain same ~4400 mah
Because nobody would use such a small battery with silicone carbon. Even rumoured S26 ultra is said to use 5500 at most next year if they even do

Not sure I am following your logic :)

If you have a smaller volume available then using newer silicone carbon would help you maintain the previous years capacity

Where if the S26 has the same volume available as previous year S25 then using silicone carbon would give you increased capacity

That's my understanding :) ie if you make things thinner then silicone carbon battery helps you maintain similar capacity to thicker designs using older battery tech.

I get what you're saying but would seem odd to keep 4400 if they are using silcone carbon.

Reports say fold 7 will be same thinness as oppo find N5. Which can fit in 5600 battery.

If they are using silcone carbon would make sense to up the battery size.

My guess is they will increase and add it next year

You maybe right given that the speculated volume of the Fold 7 (158.4 x 143.1 x 4.5mm) is only just over 1cm3 less than the Fold 6 (153.5 x 132.6 x 5.6 mm) ie 11.39-10.2 = 1.19cm3 , that could be accounted for mostly in hinge size reduction it may be possible to squeeze in the old Fold 6 battery size/volume

The Oppo N5 (160.9 x 145.6 x 4.2 mm) is about another 1/3cm3 less than the Fold 7 ie 10.2 - 9.84 = 0.36cm3 and as you note the silicone carbon battery is giving 5600mah

So in theory Samsung could fit a 5800mah silicone carbon battery in the F7

I'm sooo excited for the fold 7. My only problem with the 6 is how small the front screen is, especially coming from an iPhone 15 plus. The rumored super thinness will be a bonus, too.
