I spent 2 weeks dealing with Samsung and my order that was cancelled 14 July with email from them stating that was the case. Order was then shipped 21 July and I was told refuse shipment and it would be taken care of. I did that and tracking shows order refused 23 July, returned, and delivered to sender Copell Tx. 28 July.

Multiple phone calls, Samsung shows "package delivered". They then say they will send me a return label. When I stated it already has been returned unopened, they told me to wait 10 more days.

One quick call to bank, credit card charge refunded. I'll let Samsung figure it out. In the future I'll deal with Best Buy. ;)

With regard to Samsung customer service, the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Unfortunately has been the case for years. Whomever is head of that department for Samsung needs to throw some resources and attention into the area and straighten things out. While I have SamsungCare+ on my Fold 6, I dread what the claim experience will be like.

I guess they were right about people wanting thinness and bigger front screen over the S Pen. Lol. They removed it and surprisedly the $2,000 Fold7 is outselling the $1,100 Flip7. To best part is, the Fold8 will be even better. I can't wait for Apple Fold (Gen 1) vs Fold8 (Gen 8) next year. Lol. Round 1 to begin in September 2026.

Apple making these things mainstream will only help us Samsung Knights!

Bingo! Magically, we will walk around and see people opening up their phones. Lol. I still get weird looks from people asking me is that tablet. But Apple will normalize foldable.

Apple Fold - $1,999
Samsung Fold - $1,999
Google Fold - $1,799

I remember being at the veterinary office a few years back and unfolding my Fold 4 to show my dog's vaccination records. The receptionist's reaction was of shock and awe, and I quote, "wait, what did you just do?". Oh, it's a foldable phone ;)

I am sure for many Apple fans it will be a status symbol to own the first foldable iPhone and some will get it simply for that reason without regard for the functional benefits.

I am still doubtful of getting the first iPhone Fold vs Z Fold 8. A lot will have to do with the software support.

Also reading on Reddit that Fold 7 is sold out in some markets and all that's left is the 256GB model.

Glad for Samsung's success but this will probably also mean no need for drastic discounts in the coming months like what happened for the Fold 6.

I'm surprised they're aiming for next year and not 2027 during the anniversary of the iPhone. Because if they just brought out another brick iPhone it would be pretty boring for 20th anniversary edition, also what would they call it the XX? What about the 30th anniversary iPhone?

Of course, the ZF7 being thinner and having a bigger cover display will trump the removal of the S-Pen... I'm a avid S-Pen user and fully aware how great of a device the ZF7 is.

Just this narrative that "hey look at its selling in record numbers that shows the S-Pen is no longer relevant"... it was bound to sell, my issue is that Samsung lost an extra marketing feature along with missing some functionality they once had. Although, statistics probably indicated that the S-Pen wasn't used as much... but it's the idea they took something away and increased the cost.

But I'm really excited for September/October 2026... it's going to be interesting seeing those Apple users who didn't believe in a foldable form factor reverse course lol.

The form factor was for sure a gateway for people like me that always had interest but just couldn't handle the concessions of owning a fold.

Yes, although I suspect Samsung may reintroduce it.

I believe we can anticipate that Apple will develop an Apple Pencil compatible with their foldable device, which would provide them with additional accessories to offer. Samsung will likely reconsider their approach, and the functionality will be reinstated to some extent. This demonstrates the advantages of competition within the United States. Now, Samsung has a significant competitor in the US market.

Good times for us consumers!

Good question.

It is my understanding that Apple is potentially planning an all-screen iPhone for its 20th anniversary in 2027. However, considering the competitive landscape, it seems plausible that the Samsung S27 Ultra might introduce an all-screen design in January 2027, with Apple's (20th Anniversary iPhone) announcement following in September 2027. They likely want to beat Apple to the punch, just like we will get a crease free Fold8 months before the Apple Fold next year.

I keep telling myself to ditch the S Pen, "you don't use it as often anymore", but every week it has come in handy for jotting some quick notes. Today was another of those occasions during my daughter's freshman orientation. It is so difficult weening myself away from the S Pen. I think with the Fold 7 I may have to carry around a passive capacitive stylus in the car or my backpack.

I don't have a ton of data yet, but my first impression is that the Z Fold 7 is giving me better battery life than the S25 Ultra.

My battery experience so far has been, the Fold 7 is not that far behind my 16PM and OP13. Much better than I expected.

Wow, that's surprising considering they both have the same SoC but the S25 Ultra has a larger battery to power its single display.

On a side note, I am having a particularly good battery day with my Fold 6 and on pace for 10 hours SOT.

If some ridiculous discount took place for the ZF7... I'd buy it, but using a capacitive stylus.. don't know if I can do that. I rather not use a stylus period because the experience just wouldn't be the same.

Even if Samsung decides to not include S-Pen support for the ZF8... it's going to be tough going forward, perhaps I'll seriously consider other devices when before it was only the Galaxy Fold. Don't me wrong, earlier I posted Samsung wins in the foldable industry because of more software features... but S-Pen support was such a huge differentiator.

Maybe I am spoilt by my Oppo Find N5 but the battery is not good on my end. Already charging it again and it not even 5pm 😬 all I really use is Samsung Internet Browser, some Instagram and Reddit and checking Whatsapp and Outlook occasionally

Just gotta say, while the lack of s pen is a bit of a bummer, this is the best foldable I have used hands down. I've had every US released non flip foldable except the ZF5 and this is the one I have been waiting for. I look forward to battery improvements of future generations but even now it's not bad. Also, discovered OpenBubbles and stopped using Blue bubbles. Completely stable and easily setup iMessage on Android.

You could try the light performance mode to see if it makes a difference. Also, there is a good app on Fdroid called Wattz that will show you how much power you are using in real time. (Of course, this runs all the time and takes some juice in and of itself, but it is still a good tool for figuring out where the power is being used the most.)

Already using lite mode, scan for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also disabled and I have a routine set up to automatically enable airplane mode when it connects to my wifi network so it doesn't ping cellular all the time. Thank you though! Maybe it just still needs to do some "learning"

On the first day I have it the battery drain was pretty bad probably because it was indexing or doing things in the background. Now I have it set to 80% full charge and after hours customizing it all day I'm down to 35%. That's decent enough for me, better than my quickly dying and no longer 'peak performance,' 13PM.

I actually wonder if Smart Switch can be the culprit. I used smart switch and had some funky stuff happen so I reset All Settings and it's been great ever since.

How do you like OpenBubbles over BlueBubbles? And do you have to keep an iPhone in a drawer or something?
