I do have a Fold 5. My screen has some scratches in it so I don't know if it would work as a trade in. If I can do a trade in with Samsung that is probably the better deal. Google offers $550 for my phone which would make a Pixel cheaper if the scratches on my screen wouldn't kill a trade. I am going to be switching to T-Mobile towards the end of next month so they might have a solid trade in as well. The Fold 7 is the safe bet though, I know I would be satisfied with that phone because my 5 is still amazing.
Not sure where you located... but carriers tend to accept any kind of damages as long as the phone screen comes on, you should be good.

It's just going though Samsung directly... you can get an unlocked phone vs carrier bloat, but you can always remove it.

I tried to take a pic of the scratches but they are hard to see. I would prefer going through Samsung. That's the route I went for the current phone and I got an amazing deal. I'm in Louisiana.

If the iPhone Fold can't at least do pop-up windows, beyond the basic split screen, then it's DOA for me, along with Pixel 10 Fold. There are other cheaper phones that achieve split screen. It is a waste of all that screen real estate to limit functionality to just split screen.

I can almost guarantee that it's going to lack basic functionalities that Samsung has, but they'll probably have one killer feature that hooks a lot of people.

While I'm sure it'll be good, I just feel like iOS needs way too much work to be useful like Android is.

I don't think Apple do pop-up windows out the gate... I think they start out similar to what Google has done, keep it relatively simple.

But for me, I'm a big fan of the rumored aspect ratio... if it's indeed true it will open up in landscape orientation that will be enough for me to pull the trigger. And then if Apple actually supports the Pencil, Samsung would pivot so hard to support the S-Pen.

I'd be surprised it it doesn't offer some or all of the functionality that's coming in iPad OS 26 (free form window resizing, split screen window snapping to name a few) since it already works on the iPad minis with older CPUs and less RAM with only slightly bigger screens.

The only thing I'm not sure of with this is I feel like they would leave out some of the iPad goodness, just enough of this to still sell iPads. I know I'm pretty down on Apple these days but I fully believe they will make some really frustrating decisions with this device.

Yeah, it likely will have something nerfed which isn't surprising since it's noticeably smaller than even an iPad Mini but I don't see that much product crossover. Nobody is choosing Apples foldable in place of both a Pro phone and iPad Pro. And Apple would be fine with someone choosing this over a Pro phone and iPad Mini as the foldable will almost certainly be more expensive.

I just think it's an easy port of the iPad Mini's functionality and I'll be passing on it if they don't leverage those capabilities into their foldable.

With all the Pixel content on YouTube the last few days I was seriously contemplating a Pixel 10 Pro but one trip to Best Buy reminded me how amazing the Fold 7 is. I wanted to try a Pixel 10 but all they had was a 9 but I think physically it's close enough to get a decent impression.

I'm tempted to try a Pixel 10 Pro XL, I don't think I'd like the Pixel 10 Fold more than the Fold 7. The XL looks like a really good phone, love the PixelSnap features.

I always get allured by the promise of timely updates and A+ camera of Pixels and after using them for a couple months find myself greatly underwhelmed.

I'm disappointed the Pixel Fold is limited on multitasking compared to the Samsung. That's the point of a foldable for me.
I find the slab Pixels intriguing but I don't know that I'd use the AI stuff that much since I don't use Gemini very much on my current phone.

I've always been underwhelmed by pixel phones and have probably never kept one for more than 2 weeks. LOL

Agreed, only having 2 windows open at a time makes no sense.

Lol. The real test will be how does the S26U compare to the Fold 7, do the camera and screen upgraded justify the switch...

100%. We'll just see if I am fully a foldable Guy where that kind of stuff doesn't matter come January.

So I re ordered a Fold 7 last week to give it another try without trading in my s25 ultra. Fedex lost it or someone at fedex stole it because it's just disappeared. No scans for 4 days. Best buy wont refund until it's lost for 10 business days. Crappy thing is that it was only an hour away at the fedex facility.

Well that sucks. Keep us updated. If I do get the Fold7 I'll make sure to do a local pickup, if possible.

I hope this hasn't been addressed in the proceeding 55 pages of this thread, which I admit I have not read all of, but I just read today that Samsung took all S-pen related functionality out of the Fold7! I am crushed. I have been driving S-pen capable Samsung devices since the Note 3. I don't know if I could function without my S-pen. My current Fold6 supports S-pen. Suddenly, I don't want a Fold7 anymore if this is true.

Does anyone reading this HAVE a Fold7? Is it true? No S-pen support? Say it ain't so!!

I feel ya, and that's a sticking point for me too and why I haven't rushed to upgrade from Fold 6 to 7. I have been on the S Pen train since the Note 4. I don't use the S Pen as often anymore but it still comes in handy once or twice a week, and that's enough to make me hesitate on the Fold 7. Those basic capacitive stylus pens will still work on all phones, including the Fold 7, but it's not the same -- I don’t really need the pressure sensitivity but the palm rejection is a big deal when writing with a proper S Pen.

I use my S-Pen daily. I jot down notes all the time ...so much faster than typing, and NO DAMN AUTOCORRECT to deal with! What you write is what you get.

This is truly crushing.

Without an S-Pen, Google's fold offer may get my business next time! Samsung, are you listening? I am sure it is not just me...

Yeah, it's not just you. I will not get another Samsung phone if it doesn't have s pen support.

Hmm, I wouldn't necessarily place the Pixel 10 Fold above the Fold 7. Both only work with capacitive stylus.

I don’t know what is up but some stores in Germany have the galaxy fold 7 for 1400 euro right now, I couldn’t resist and I got one, that is a 700 euro discount for a phone that was released less than a month ago! 😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️😶‍🌫️
