What do you mean? They charge you the full price on the credit card until the trade-in is processed?
Yes. At least, that's what the site says when you are in the cart.

What if you don't want to use a BestBuy credit card? Or do they send you a VISA/MC gift card for the value of the trade-in?
You can use your BB credit card and I suppose they credit you after it's processed, sometimes they offer you a gift card with the purchase... but that's separate from the trade-in.

Samsung really does do it right. In fact I don't think I've ordered from any other company that actually takes the trade in price off the total during the initial order.

Yup, Apple only does it upfront if you’re using the Apple Card, otherwise it’s a refund when trade-in received.

… only issue with BB that they include full price until trade-in is processed. I prefer the way Samsung handles trade-in.
Not correct for an in store trade in. As long as you order the new phone shipped to store the trade in is instantly processed when you pick up the new phone.

For in store trade in at Best Buy you can do the old to new data transfer right there, make sure the new phone works, wipe the old phone, and get the discount before you leave.

It is all simple, quick, and pretty seamless overall. Nothing easier as long as you are really ready to say goodbye to your old phone.

Good point. I’ve done a store trade-in at Best Buy, should had specified online orders.

Down the rabbit hole. Bought a Watch 8 Classic and paired it with the Pixel. I played with the Fold 7 in my country (Netherlands) and Prague and fell in love with it.

So I ordered one. Will be delivered on September 1, with a free Watch Ultra 2025, with 15% off.

Is it just me, but I can’t see any options on Samsung website other than 1tb models?

They're probably updating the site/app...hopefully to fix the earlier discrepancy I posted about advertised price "starting at $1728" but when you click the link the price reflects $1852.

Samsung marketing department was probably in a panic rush to push promos ahead of the Pixel 10 reveal tomorrow.

Is that the "no trade-in" price? With my student discount the "no trade-in" price is $1567, but jumps back up to $1852 if I select the trade-in option. I wish $1649 allowed trade-in, then I'd be a buyer.

At this rate, Samsung might be prepping me for the tri-fold if better Fold 7 deals don't materialize. Tri-fold with S Pen at $2500 (maybe $1300 after trade-in and pre-order discounts) could be tempting.

Meta is also releasing Hypernova smartglasses with built-in display that I got my eye on. A lot of cool tech toys to look forward to in the coming months.

I’m on the verge of getting the Fold 7. I love that big-ass screen, but I’m borderline obsessive about keeping my phone spotless. The internal screen’s protector scratches so damn easily. If you forget to cut your nails, you can leave a permanent mark 🫣. How do you folks manage not to scratch it and not to obsess about scratches on the screen protector too much? Why is it not removable? 🥲

I can't say I have ever scratched any of my 7 Folds with my nails 🙂

The screen protector is removable just not recommend. I have removed them on my wife's older spare flips when they bubbled at the crease after a couple of years.

If you are a bit OCD on this then just get the protector replaced more frequently 🙂

What made you switch back? I'm thinking of doing the same o_O
I love the compact ability when folded ( still a one hand one) which opens into tablet which makes it much easier while traveling for reading/viewing.
Camera and Battery were non issue for me during my 1 week usage, i was getting similar battery life to my S25U and i am always around charger.
Also i prefer the fingerprint scanner on Z fold 7 than Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which is a hit and miss for me.

I recently fully switched to Android with S25U after being on iphone for over 17 years so enjoying the freedom it brings to try various diff devices.
