Haha look at us Ultra users converting. In line with the above comments, the thing that surprises me the most is that I also miss the compact ability when closed. There are so many times at night where I need to use it one handed, and I actually miss the ability of mostly being able to reach all 4 corners of my screen (even though Samsung has an awesome one handed mode).

For the most part, I plan on using this phone naked, but I am going to look for a case for situations where I absolutely want some extra protection. I hate bulk though, liked the Supcase Beetle Grip, but with that built in screen protector, I wasn't as much of a fan of the outer screen. I think I'm in between the thinborne and latercase. I'm not the biggest fan of Lew but it seems like people really love that case.

I'm also going to try Smart Switch again. I really think I had a lemon with all the freezes I had. If the same thing happens, then I'm going to assume that there's something in the transfer that just didn't agree with the new phone and then I'll just factory reset and start from scratch.

I haven't use the case since iPhone 3gs, same with fold 7 but i believe Samsung offer some thin cases or Pitaka maybe, i only use protector on cover screen.

SmartSwitch issues are not true in my opinion, I have used same iPhone backup to S24 Ultra/Z fold6/S25U and now fold 7 with no issues, didn't even need to wipe the cache partition.

Used SmartSwitch cable transfer from S25U to Z fold 7 which transferred over 86GB data in under 35 mins and then 1 hour to organize that data and phone is like to like ( apart from some modes and routines). Phone is little bit slow while all data is being organized but after that snappy as ever and battery is great.

The issue is all the cases with a front part have some sort of adhesive, right? Not easy to switch on and off.
The Torras case I'm using does not have an adhesive strip. The left side that is up against the hinge cover has some slight give to it, but really not noticeable as the hinge cover sits flush with it and limits movement to the left when swiping on or touching the left side of the screen.

How do you like that case? That another one I checked out.

I posted a link to it earlier in the thread. Expensive for a case but I love it. The magnet works great and the versatility of the 360 degree rotating magnetic ring make it a winner for me. It feels just beefy enough to be protective while still maintaining a somewhat slim profile. Hard to beat the way this phone feels without a case but I use the magnet/kickstand enough that I keep it on most of the time. Also makes it much easier to unfold.

Nice, I'll probably end up choosing between this one and the other two I mentioned, and go by which one is on sale, lol.

I've been using the Spigen Tough Armor Pro case and love it so far. It comes with adhesive but I did not use any of it and overall the case fits perfectly and stays put. It adds some bulk but not too much for me. I also have the Air Fit Pro en route and will compare that. The advantage of the Air Fit is that it is a two-piece case and can remove the front cover when not needed / wanted, and still have back and hinge protection.

I love the compact ability when folded ( still a one hand one) which opens into tablet which makes it much easier while traveling for reading/viewing.
Camera and Battery were non issue for me during my 1 week usage, i was getting similar battery life to my S25U and i am always around charger.
Also i prefer the fingerprint scanner on Z fold 7 than Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which is a hit and miss for me.

I recently fully switched to Android with S25U after being on iphone for over 17 years so enjoying the freedom it brings to try various diff devices.
I’m in the same situation Apple wise. My first iPhone was the 3GS and I’m just bored to tears with the iPhone. I have the S25U and tested the Fold 7 but returned it due to the cost size and battery but I’m seriously considering giving the F7 another go because it is such an incredible device.

Disappointed that Pixel 10 Fold still only displays two apps at once whereas Fold 7 can do up to four. While I don't need 4 apps at once, I routinely have 3 apps open for work productivity. If I only needed simple split screen then I might as well get an S25 Ultra. Google could do more to make their foldable a productivity powerhouse.

I feel the same. I don't the the Pixel Fold offers enough to make it preferable (for me) over the Samsung.

4 apps in a grid on a Galaxy Fold? Or you including pop-up windows?

Wow, only $625 towards Pixel 10 Fold if you trade-in a Fold 6 (regardless of storage size). Then again, the Pixel 10 Fold is $200 less than the base Fold7.

Unless someone knows a different way three in a grid plus one or more pop-up windows.
Yeah, I'm not really big on the 3-way grid... more of a pop-up window user. I'm glad that Samsung has the 3-way grid... rather have it than not. But it's not one of those features that are a must for me.

Think I'm stuck on the Galaxy Fold though, only competition that could peak my interest is the upcoming iPhone foldable... and that's more for consolidation purposes since I carry a Fold and iPad together. With the iPhone fold... I'd return to the Apple Watch, even though Galaxy Watch has treated me well.

I don't know, kinda like where I'm at... but sometimes change is good when I have had this Android+iPad setup for 6 years now. However, it's fun being apart of two platforms (plus there's something about Android community I like being apart of).

I am leaning more on the pop-up windows as I become more familiar with them. I am considering a Pixel 10 Pro because I don't really like the idea of paying 2k for a phone but I think it will be hard to not get the Fold 7.

But the difference in price is $200? If I'm not mistaken you already have a Fold which means Samsung would give you a better trade-in discount. Basically, you would be paying more out of pocket for the Pixel Fold... but I could be wrong.

I do have a Fold 5. My screen has some scratches in it so I don't know if it would work as a trade in. If I can do a trade in with Samsung that is probably the better deal. Google offers $550 for my phone which would make a Pixel cheaper if the scratches on my screen wouldn't kill a trade. I am going to be switching to T-Mobile towards the end of next month so they might have a solid trade in as well. The Fold 7 is the safe bet though, I know I would be satisfied with that phone because my 5 is still amazing.
