Yea I total disabled Google/Gemini on mine, I either use the 15GB free cloud storage for things that I need multiple redundancies for, then just upload everything to my NAS. Disabling Google especially 'Hey Gemini,' 'Hey google,' or 'Hey Bixby' actually helped a lot with battery life. I'm sitting at 8%-9% per SOT hour. I am assuming with these on the phone is always listening even when its in sleep mode.

It's been a little busy lately so I haven't had a chance to check in how's everybody doing? My SIM is still in have not swapped out since activating this phone. Enjoying it daily and I have a good routine with it.

Hey folks, read almost all 62 pages of this thread. Interesting views and tips. As some of your folks here, I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem but looking to merge my iPhone and iPad mini into one device. Still need it to work with my AirPods Pro and Mac. Few questions to clarify:

1. Anyone tried AndroPod with AirPods Pro’s? Do they work well?
2. Any way to get AirTags to work or forget them?
3. G Photos and Gallery, they basically keep two copies of the same photo and I’ll need to manually delete one? I’m going from above posting.
4. Moving photos from iCloud to G Photos - assuming photos will be organised by date and location, metadata is carried over? When iFold or whatever comes out, I should not have an issue moving back to iCloud?
5. With G Photos - is there a way like iCloud where it optimises and keeps a lighter version of photo to save storage? I got the 512GB one but want to be safe.
6. Passwords - love how it syncs across my Mac and phone etc. Gather that I’ll need to use a diff app. Anyone can recommend an app? Can I set it as the default app on my Mac?
7. Can I run two eSIMs simultaneously on the phone? On google, it says no but one forum says yes.
8. Any other issues to anticipate upon moving and making it sync seamlessly with MacOS?

Thank you for your kind help.

I don't mix my airpods with my Android I think they would work but probably not as well

I don't use air tags so someone else can chime in

I just leave my photos on the phone and just view them on Google photos, they are backed up to the Google cloud so you could delete if you were so from device if you wanted to save storage

iCloud photos I keep separate so someone will have to chime in on that

You can save Google photos original quantity or there is a compressed version to save storage

Check out bitwarden it was recommended to me by some folks at AC forums cross platform across all devices and computers

I've used ESim and physical SIm before on previous Fold but thinking you can do two ESim as well

Welp. I didn't place an order yesterday for anything Apple, so we're good here. 😂
LOL, neither did I. The 17 Pro series this year is lame. I have always updated to the next iphone each year for the cameras alone. I love photography so this year's small update to the telephoto camera & no change to the wide & ultra wide was big a disappointment. So....that's why I have left apple and now use the Samsung S25 Ultra! I liked it so much that I upgraded early with at&t and traded in one of my 16 pro max iphones so now I have two S25 Ultra phones. The cameras are so much better on this phone compared to the iphone pro models especially when I use Expert Raw. Bye bye apple.

I really do like Expert Raw. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of on my Z Fold 7 is the cameras but it is nice at least having the 200mp main camera. It's very capacity of getting excellent shots. I just can't really do a lot with zoom past 3x.

I would definitely like to check it out but to be honest it's actually the worst value out of all the lineup in my opinion
Agreed. Other than asthetics, it's the worst phone if the line up. "All day battery but please buy those battery pack" lol.

I was most tempted by the Pro Max, as usual. But then I reminded myself how much I hated iOS before switching in February.

OK. I haven't really held or used the z fold 7 so I'm not familiar with the cameras, ill have to take a look at the displayunit at best buy. A friend has one and loves it. Since 3x & beyond isn't great, hopefully the 200mp will provide plenty of crop room for your photos.

The 5x 50mp camera on the S25 Ultra is great & the image sensor is slightly larger than the new sensor used in the 17 pro / pro max. Sad that Apple can't do a huge camera update on the iphone. I got tired of the minor upgrades and so I moved on.

The Fold 7 camera is a huge improvement over the previous folds but outside the 200mp main sensor the cameras aren't premium like the ultra.

Will try to answer some of your questions. Regarding the photos, yes you'll need to manually delete Gallery photos but make sure they are saved to Google photos first.

My photos from iCloud have the dates and locations saved in Google photos. If you switch back to iOS make sure to download your Google library in full quality to your iPhone, then they will upload to iCloud.

Bitwarden is great for passwords. I have it synced across many devices. You can set it as default password app in Android.

You can use two e-sims simultaneously.

Still love mine. Tried a Pixel 10 Pro XL and returned it due to bluetooth issues and inability to pair with my GWU. I can't resist and pre ordered a 17PM. Will forever be a two phones Nelson.

Value wise? I agree with you, it's the worst! But the form factor is appealing… I know Apple doing this is a precursor for their upcoming foldable.

Were you planning on having both the 10 Pro XL and Fold 7 if you didn't have those issues?

I know right lol Verizon offering me $1100 for my iPhone 15PM but going to wait it out
I am on the iPhone upgrade program so might just switch my 16PM over to the Air. I have my Fold7 and S25U and don’t really use any of the “Pro” features of the 16PM (whatever the Pro features are). The Air is something new and compact and will still allow me to get my iOS fix.

I planned to use both and eventually sell one of them. Regardless of iPhone. My issues aside I was very impressed by the Pixel. Haptics are second to none and the display is the best I've used on a phone.

1. Anyone tried AndroPod with AirPods Pro’s? Do they work well? They work fine, but it's basic. You get all functions via the stems directly, they sound normal etc. you don't get in ear detection though. You can get apps for battery monitoring on Android.
2. Any way to get AirTags to work or forget them? Forget them.
3. G Photos and Gallery, they basically keep two copies of the same photo and I’ll need to manually delete one? I’m going from above posting. I use g photos, at least when I delete there is deleted from the gallery.

I answered what I could above.

Yeah, so me and the fold. We're cool. Got to finally experience a fantasy football Sunday with this thing. Don't think I can go back to a slab now.
Wait, you moved from the S25 Ultra to a fold? I've not been keeping up to date on the thread so excuse me 😬

How are you finding it? Im always suspicious of foldables due to thier durability. But the concept i do like. The Pixel fold 10 looks great.

I did, then returned it, then bought it again. Haha.

It's a huge change in how you use the device,. so I highly recommend giving yourself a few weeks to get used to the lifestyle. Durability doesn't seem to be an issue either. Plus, I have insurance. 😁

Ahh ok, you flip flop like i do 😂, meaning you order then return then re-order.

How's the battery life on the Fold 7?

It's good enough. If I know that I'm going to be away from a charger for quite a while, I pack my magsafe battery pack for extra peace of mind but it doesn't really seem much worse than the Ultra was!

I've had the Fold 4, 6, and now 7. I personally haven't had any durability issues yet.

I was thinking of doing the same, but the single speaker killed it for me.
