I've come to the realisation that I'm more in love with the shorter wider form factor than the folding aspect. I use it unfolded 95% of the time.

I wish more companies other than Huawei adopt the shorter wider format like their Pure X View.
It's interesting that we're starting to see a trend a little bit back towards the display aspect ratio of the very first iPhone... who knew that the slightly wider vs taller ratio was a great idea?

Yeah, I enjoy the shorter form factor... but it's even better opening up to enjoy the larger view.

Damn I feel validated 🧐:

"@ UniverseIce:

The three biggest failures of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8:Overly aggressive thermal throttlingThis is the root cause of many of its performance issues. Samsung’s thermal limits are simply too conservative. As soon as the device gets slightly warm, performance is heavily restricted, leading directly to stutters, frame drops, and an overall lack of smoothness.Later, I’ll show you how Samsung can have the best Snapdragon chip available, yet end up delivering barely half of its actual performance. Once you run Geekbench 7, the problem becomes immediately obvious. I’ll compare the Galaxy Z Fold8 directly with the Xiaomi 18 Fold, and the difference is striking. The hardware is clearly capable of much more, yet Samsung continues to hold it back with extremely strict thermal management and seems unwilling to seriously address the problem..."

I mean I don't care about benchmarks, but it feels nice reading that I'm not one of the few ones seeing those stutters and dropped frames everyone in the UI. I do notice this stuff easily though, I am after all an UX/UI Designer 🤭...
