Searching for mail on the server works great. It tells you how many messages you have and it loads pretty fast. I was using a IMAP Gmail account
Any idea if this feature is also in the API so those of us who done use MobileMe don't have to pay $99/year for this one feature?
I presume this means some service can be enabled on the iphone when triggered from Me.com to send GPS co-ordinates? Fingers crossed that isn't too hard for someone to crack...
Find my iPod?
I wonder if this is more like "it was stolen, what city is it in?" or more like "it's somewhere in the house, please make my iPod beep!"
I'd think the second option would be more useful, personally.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)
Looks fantastic. SMS is what it should always have been like.
I can't wait for this update for a lot of reasons, but the one thing that gives me pause is the addition of a spotlight tool. I can see how this might end up being very sluggish on the current hardware. I'd really like to hear more from developers as to how this was implemented and whether or not the system resources handle it well.
Thanks.. another question. Does it just search your inbox on the server, or all mailboxes?

Should have thought twice before being an early adopter.
nah, I've been enjoying my iphone, and free firmware updates, for nearly 2 years now. It's probably the best single purchase I've ever made. And even now we're getting 90% of the new features, free. Sure, I'd like 100%, but I'd rather focus on the positives.
I'm not sure I understand your question. Like I am not a huge IMAP user I don't have like a bunch of folders and things like that. So I don't know if I will be of much help.
I am wondering if you can copy text into an password field, like the wifi password. I have had to make my passwords simple for use with the iphone. Additionally the wifi auto-login I hope will be location aware turning on wifi when you get to a certain location an logging you in.

I am asking myself why apple come out with that "sneak preview" anyway? Its not Apple at all. What was the purpose of this? Kinda strange.
You and me both....... If a new phone comes out in June I will pick that one up. But if it doesn't I will be happy with my first gen phone still...
